• POTATOES Crop development is lagging behind across much of North America. Wet weather and cool temperatures are delaying planting and slowing emergence for much of the fall potato crop.

• ONIONS Expect to see strong markets into next week as demand continues to be active and New Mexico recovers from the recent storm.

• LIMESCrop still peaking on small fruit. Sizing is slightly up with peak sizing moving to more of a 200/230/175 count.

• LETTUCES ICEBERG - Many shippers were sold out by the end of last week and expect light availability all this week due to planting gaps in early 2019. Demand exceeds supplies and this will continue for the week. Value-added products are triggered. Quebec iceberg lettuce has started with very light supplies.ROMAINE / LEAF - The romaine market, as well as green and red leaf, has firmed up in the marketplace. Supplies look to get tighterthroughout the week. Quebec green leaf, red leaf and romaine have started with light volume. Expect volume to ramp up over the next 10-14 days.SPRING MIX, SPINACH & BABY KALEThe baby leaf market continues to stay steady on spring mix, baby kale, baby spinach, and cello spinach. Quality is good with minimal yellowing and bruising of the tender leaves.ROCKET ARUGULA / WATERCRESSRed kale crop will not be available until the end of June. Supplies are good; however, we are seeing some yellowing in the fields due to the heat. Bunched watercress is available.

• APPLESExtremely limited supplies of Granny Smith and Golden Delicious apples. Food service sizes (125ct, 138ct) are getting harder to come by.

• BRUSSELS SPROUTS This market has started to come off as rain gaps are closing and with a little more supply in the pipeline.

• CELERY Supplies of celery are expected to improve over the next two to three weeks. Quebec celery is scheduled to start around July 17th, again cool/rainy weather has slowed production.

• CORNGood volume of bicolor available with volumes on white and yellow limited. Georgia volume is in full swing.

• AVOCADOSWith lower inventory levels, the industry will continue to see higher prices on all sizes and grades without any relief in sight.

• GOLD PINEAPPLES Fruit during this week should have less water spotting issues if the weather conditions remain stable. Brix is reported as 13+ at the farms.

• MELONCANTALOUPES - Good quality on LSL (Long Shelf Life) variety melons internally and externally. Small fruit remains limited for the next few weeks. There is good demand with a steady market HONEYDEWS - The majority of the honeydews are imports.

• TOMATOES EAST - Quincy, Florida and South Carolina have begun picking in a light way and volume will be increasing into next week. Sizing has been heavy to 5x6(XL) and 6x6(LG) with little small fruit available. Sizing will begin to even out as harvest progresses and growers move into second picks by next week.WEST - Roma tomatoes have gone up as they become more difficult to source in the east. Duties are set at 17.56% of the value of tomatoes crossing into the US directly affecting the cost of goods.

• STONE FRUIT California domestic stone fruit production is in full swing with promotable volumes available on peaches, nectarines, and apricots. Both tray pack and volume fill pack styles are available in all sizes.

= Local options available

• ASPARAGUSMarkets have continued with heavy volume this week. Currently, there is both local and imports available with promotional volume. Qualityhas also been excellent out of all growing regions.

• CAULIFLOWER The cauliflower market continues to be low with good yields coming out of the fields. Supplies have been consistent.

• MANGOESCurrent sizing is peaking on 10 count followed by 9 count and 12 count. The larger sizes, like 7 and 8 count, are becoming more available in combination with smaller sizes.

• PEARSThe pear market remains steady. Much like the apples, food service sizes (110ct and smaller) continue to be difficult to supply and are in few hands.

• GRAPEFRUIT Quality out of California is improving, but has some occasional scarring. Internal and external color is nice with high brix.

• GARLIC SCAPES - From BC• SEA ASPARAGUS - From BC• SPRUCE TIPS - From BC• WHITE ASPARAGUS - From France• WILD ASPARAGUS- From France• PORCINI- From Oregon• MOUSSERON - From Bulgaria• SUMMER TRUFFLES- From Spain• WINTER TRUFFLES - From Australia• BLUEFOOT - From France• MOREL MUSHROOMS - From China• CHANTERELLE - From Bulgaria

• EGGPLANT EAST - Eggplant supplies are very steady.WEST - The eggplant market is currently high and steady due to limited supplies. Quality is good.

• PEPPERS EAST - Bell pepper supply is coming from Georgia with South Carolina starting light supplies.WEST - Moderate and good supplies of serrano, green and jalapeños. Light supplies of red peppers.

• CITRUS - LEMONSLemon supplies continue to remain tight on 165’s and smaller. Market prices continue to climb weekly on California choice and fancy fruit. Supplies continue to peak on the large sizes 75ct/95ct/115ct.

• GREEN ONIONS Green onion supply continues to be plentiful. We expect to see Quebec green onions the week of June 17th.

• BEANSGreen bean supplies are tightening. Snipped bean supplies are tight with good quality and triggered pricing.

• BROCCOLI Market has leveled out as there is a steady supply in the pipeline. Ontario bunched broccoli starts around July 1st, with crowns a week later.

• CUCUMBERS EAST - Cucumber supply is spread out from Georgia to North Carolina.WEST - The cucumber market is increasingand could remain high.

• WATERMELON Supplies are good on seedless watermelon. We will have good volume to promote for the month of June.

• ORANGES Supply is peaking on 72/88. 56 count and larger are available but not very abundant. 113/138count are in very tight supply at the moment.

• BERRIES BLUEBERRIESThis week, expect a “demand exceeds supply” situation in the east coast. Blueberries are in abundant supplies in the west coast.RASPBERRIESAdequate supply with quality as good however they have just endured a heat wave which could affect the fruit negatively. Possible defects like soft fruit, bruising and leakers to show themselves in the upcoming days.BLACKBERRIESThe market remains firm.STRAWBERRIESRecord setting heat wave in the growing regions has caused reduced yields, higher markets and quality issues.

• ZUCCHINI Green is definitely more steady, while yellow has scarring. Local season across different regions have started to take place which should help keep prices and volume in check.

• GRAPES The Mexican and Coachella grape season is rapidly picking up steam, with large volumes of both red and green seedless finally being harvested each day. The grape industry will see extremely heavy volume picked and packed over the next 2-3 weeks.
