FOREWORD

This bibliography presents books and periodical articles on the subject ofmountain warfare. Because they are there, mountain combat has long been animportant part of war, whether as the ultimate end or as a means to somefurther objective.

This number is arranged in two parts. Part One covers book-type coverageas distinct from periodicals. The latter section is divided in two parts.Section one covers the executionary, and section two the preparatory ortraining/learning phase. By no means is this number intended to indicatecomplte:'boverfte on the subject. Inclusion of an item, or omissiQn, does ....not imply USAFAS indorsement or sanction of the compiler's point-of-view nordoes it guarantee accuracy of content. Comment and criticism concerning thislist is solicited.
