This time I thought of an elderly gentleman who lived in a town where I worked as a young newspaper editor. He was a well know and revered individual who had gotten into his nineties and had vision every bit as good as Mr. McGoo’s. Of course he still drove. And like Mr. McGoo, sometimes he drove on his side of the road. Sometimes he drove on your side of the road and other times he split the difference and drove down the middle of the road. He was even known to drive on down- town sidewalks on occa- sion. Did the fair people of that that town rise up in outrage and demand his keys be confiscated? Heck no, they just all kept their eyes peeled and pulled over to the side of the road and gave him room when they saw him coming. He drove until he got too feeble to crank the car. So I’m giving you Ker- shaw folk fair warning. I’m behind the wheel and I could be coming your way. Give me plen- ty of room.
