Have you ever dreamed of cruising the canals of Venice by gondola, taking in Michelangelo’s masterpieces in the home of the Renaissance, and seeing all of Paris from atop the Eiffel Tower? This cultural immersion trip organized by Travel For Teens and Mrs. Paula Heidrick will let you do all this and more as we travel between Paris, Florence, and Venice, taking in the best sights that these three amazing cities have to offer! We’ll begin our journey in Paris, the City of Light, where you’ll cruise along the River Seine at twilight, try fondue in the Latin Quarter, and explore the artistic neighborhood of Montmartre. Next we’re off to Florence to hunt for treasures in the famous leather markets, cross the Ponte Vecchio, and climb to the top of the impressive Duomo. No trip to Italy would be complete without a day in Venice, as you’ll walk in the footsteps of Casanova, Marco Polo and other great Venetians and eat the best pizza you’ve ever had. France and Italy are just waiting for you to discover them for yourself!

This trip is open to the Broughton High School and Cary High School communities. There are a limited number of spaces available which will be awarded on a first-come, first-served basis.

NB: All times listed in this itinerary are approximate. We always do our best to respect the times listed in the itinerary but this is not always possible due to many variables, including the peculiar French notion of being “on time.” Thanks for your understanding.

Day 1: Saturday April 13• Flight from the USA to Paris

Day 2: Sunday April 14• Arrive in Paris - Welcome to Europe!• Go through passport control and collect your luggage• Meet your TFT counselors at the airport• Private transfer to the hotel, leave bags• Lunch and First Day Meeting• Visit the famous Cathedral of Notre Dame and climb the towers

for a breathtaking view over Paris• Return to the hotel to check in and get washed up• First dinner at a traditional Parisian bistro

Day 3: Monday April 15• Breakfast at the hotel• Guided tour of the Musée du Louvre• Picnic lunch in the Tuileries Gardens• Free time to explore on Rue de Rivoli• Afternoon bike tour of Paris’ hidden alleyways and ancient

history! (Another option will be available for those not comfortable on a bike.)

• Return to the hotel to get washed up• Dinner in Montmartre: Check out the infamous Moulin Rouge,

ancient windmills, and the Sacré-Coeur Basilica

Day 4: Tuesday April 16• Breakfast at the hotel• Visit the Musée d’Orsay to see masterpieces by Monet, Degas,

van Gogh, Manet, Cézanne and more• Picnic lunch on the Champs de Mars• Ascend the Eiffel Tower!• Fondue dinner in the Latin Quarter• Twilight boat cruise on the River Seine

Day 5: Wednesday April 17• Breakfast at the hotel• Morning options: The Pompidou Centre, home to some of the

world’s best contemporary art, or exploring a traditional Parisian street market (market depends on the day of the week)

• Lunch• Free time for shopping on the Champs-Elysées, Paris’ version

of 5th Avenue. Don’t forget to pick up some macarons from Ladurée!

• Final Parisian dinner

Day 6: Thursday April 18• Private transfer from hotel to airport• Breakfast at the airport• Early flight from Paris to Florence• Arrive in Florence - welcome to Italy!• Private transfer to the hotel, leave luggage• Lunch at one of Florence’s best panini shops• Walking tour of downtown Florence: Check out the beautiful

Duomo, the Piazza della Signoria, the Ponte Vecchio, and more!• Afternoon options: Climb to the top of the Duomo, or shop in

Florence’s famous leather markets• Authentic pizza dinner• Evening stroll for the best gelato you’ve ever had

Day 7: Friday April 19• Breakfast at the hotel• Catch an early train from Florence to Venice (approx. 2 hours)• Arrive in Venice• Walking tour of Venice: See one of the world’s first casinos and

learn about Giacomo Casanova, stroll through the ancient Jewish Ghetto, walk over the Rialto Bridge, and end up at the world-famous St. Mark’s Square

• Lunch in St. Mark’s Square• Afternoon options: Explore the Doge’s Palace, or check out the

amazing art at the Guggenheim Museum• *Optional afternoon activity (not included in tuition): Go for a

gondola ride through the canals!• Free time for shopping and wandering the canals• Incredible pizza dinner in Venice• Late train back to Florence

Day 8: Saturday April 20• Breakfast at the hotel• Visit the Accademia, home to Michelangelo’s “David”• Lunch at the Mercato Centrale• Guided tour of the Uffizi Gallery, home to the world’s best

collection of Renaissance art• Free time for last-minute souvenir shopping in the leather

markets• Return to the hotel to get dressed up for our fancy final dinner• Climb up to the Piazzale Michelangelo for a magical sunset view

over all of Florence• Elegant final Italian dinner• Evening stroll for one last gelato

Day 9: Sunday April 21• Return flight from Florence to the USA
