Look at the column on the right hand side. The 12hour clock times are written down the left side of the column and the 24hour clock times are written down the right side of the column. The ‘24hour clock time’ is aligned across from its corresponding ‘12hour clock time’. 24 Hour Clock Mat Facts to remember: 24hour clocks do not use ‘am’ or ‘pm’. ‘am’ indicates from 12midnight to 12midday. ‘pm’ indicates from 12midday to 12midnight. 12am is midnight. 12pm is midday (in the day time around lunchtime! Also known as ‘noon’). Once the time goes past
Maths: ‘Time’ Click on the link below to take you to the ferry timetables for Pittwater. Palm Beach Ferry Timetable Activity:
* Using the first timetable
titled ‘Palm Beach, Ettalong, Wagstaffe’ answer these questions: Q1. What is the earliest ferry departing Palm Beach for Ettalong, on a Sunday? Q2. On Christmas Day, what time does the last ferry depart Wagstaffe? Q3. Create a question that someone could answer if they looked at this timetable. (You will need to know the answer!)
* Using the second
timetable titled ‘Palm Beach - Bennetts - Bonnie Doon - Basin - Currawong - Mackerel’ answer these questions: Q4. What time on a Monday, does the ferry that leaves Palm Beach at 9:00am, arrive at Mackerel? Q5. If on a Saturday, I wanted to leave Mackerel, and be at Palm Beach at 5:45pm, what time should I
morning (ie past midday/noon), on a 24hour clock, the numbers just keep going up (instead of using the numbers 1-12 again). So: 1pm is called 13:00 2pm is called 14:00 3pm is called 15:00 ... and so on until 10pm is called 20:00 11pm is called 21:00 12am is called 24:00 (midnight). Only the hour (not the minutes!) are affected (changed) in converting to/from 12 and 24 hour time. The minutes always remain the same. Activity: Click on this link for the worksheet called: ‘Converting 12 to 24 Hour Clock Times - Sheet 1’ Read through the sheet and then complete the two tables at the bottom of the sheet (titled ‘Convert these times into 24 hour clock times’). You can write your answers on paper or in your maths book (or print the worksheet). https://www.math-salamanders.com/image-files/24-hour-clock-conversion-12-to-24-hour-clock-1.gif
catch the ferry from Mackerel? Q6. Create a question that someone could answer if they looked at this timetable. (You will need to know the answer!)
Facts to remember: If the time is ‘_pm’, just add 12 to it to convert this time to 24hour time. Example: 7pm = 19:00 (ie 7 + 12 = 19) Example: 7:20pm = 19:20 (ie 7:20 + 12 = 19:20) If changing a 24hour time to 12hour time, just subtract 12 from it and add the word ‘pm’. Example: 14:00 = 2pm (ie 14 - 12 = 2) Example: 14:25 = 2:25pm (ie 14:25 - 12 = 2:25)

online: go outside and practice some batting, bowling and fielding for cricket. Play with a sibling, parent or just practise against a wall.
online, find a strong plastic or paper cup. Find as many percussion sounds as you can by tapping it in different places, banging it on a table and banging your hands on the table to accompany it. Do you remember the song ‘Cups’ from school? Anna Hendrick does a great tutorial on how to play the cup and if you have a copy of the song or movie, perhaps watch and listen to that scene one more time.

Tony and Jason are bored. Life in Lockdown means that there is very little that they can do. There
are only so many movies to watch, so many places to ride your skateboard when all of the skate
parks are closed.
Hanging on the wall at Tony’s place is a plastic frisbee. Jason suggests taking the frisbee out for a
game. Tony explains that the frisbee belongs to his brother Nick, an ultimate frisbee player, who
has collected that frisbee from his sports hero.
Of course they take the frisbee from the wall and start playing with it, promising to keep it safe.
But…
Jason manages to throw the frisbee so that it not only clears the fence but it was last seen going
over the school building next door. They are unable to retrieve it.
