About the Seminar

There are times when oil selection based on chemical constituents or symptoms alone seems an abstract or just over-

whelming task. A different perspective is often needed in treatment to achieve excellent, rather than just okay results. Selecting essential oils on the basis of their actual fragrance quality–the psychosensory approach–literally makes 'sense.'

It can open a whole new universe of clinical applications and add a powerful new dimension to a healing arts practice.

Fragrance Energetics is the integration of our sensory experience with the therapeutic properties of essential oils. Going

beyond the simple structure-function rule of modern pharmacology, it has the advantage of articulating each fragrance type (e.g. pungent, lemony, green, woody, etc.) directly with particular functional disorders of body and mind. It con-

nects an oil's aroma with what it can potentially treat. This approach is especially useful if our aim is to address the mental and emotional aspects of an individual’s condition, which today are often at the very root of physical disorders.

Fragrance Energetics is an invaluable tool for essential oil selection and treatment. It has been empirically validated by

many decades of clinical practice and is based on the time-tested vitalistic principles of all traditional medical systems,

especially those of traditional Chinese and Greek medicine. It proves especially valuable for treating complex conditions, especially when mental-emotional issues are blocking a positive treatment outcome. It can create amazing and lasting

shifts in treatment outcome.

The core of this seminar is an in-depth discussion of the energetic qualities and therapeutic actions and indications of

the six major fragrance types: Pungent, Lemony, Green, Sweet, Woody and Rooty, along with their several sub-types. We will discuss the major essential oils belonging to each aromatic quality, illustrating their uses throughout with clinical

examples. To enhance learning and retention, there will be small group breakouts and group discussions of difficult case histories using Fragrance Energetics for essential oil selection and treatment, as well as more case-histories from Peter's

and his students' practices.

What Past Participants Have Said

Peter’s deep knowledge and enthusiasm for essential oils made what could have been on ordinary seminar into an amazingly enriching experience. I was able to use the oils and the information the very next day in my treatment rooms.

Peter is on the forefront of a whole new world in the energetic treatment of the body and psyche. – Lisa Walker LAc

This seminar opened up an entirely new understanding of the energy of essential oils. I have been familiar with the clinical as well as the personal use of essential oils for over 25 years and yet I felt I learned so much more about our

‘green friends/helpers.’ — Muin Daly LAc

Essential oil energetics holds tremendous promise and I am beyond grateful to Peter Holmes for pioneering this path! If you are serious about healing and transformation using the precious oils, then taking on study with Peter is exactly what

you need to do. – Tiffany Pollard MS, LAc, LMT

I always come away from Peter’s seminars with lots of specific information that I can start using with my patients right away. His wealth of clinical experience is drawn from many years of practice and research, and is presented in such an

organized way that it’s easy to follow, and he’s able to transmit a great deal of information in just two days. – Janene Mitchell LAc

"I just wanted to say thank you for the amazing class this past weekend. It was phenomenal. I learned a lot on so

many levels. I am grateful and humbled and thankful to you for giving the information with such passion, intelligence and patience." – Elizabeth Fine LAc
