General Parish Meeting 19 January 7:45pm
This meeting will be an opportunity to review all our parish activities of 2017 and look ahead to the
new year of 2018. If you have any ideas, whether they are about spiritual, social or fund-raising activities, this
meeting is a chance to discuss such ideas. All are most welcome.
Eucharist and the Family 2018 In the coming year the International World Meeting
of Families takes place in Dublin 21-26 August and the National Eucharistic Congress 7-9 September
takes place in Liverpool. On Tues 23 January there will be an introductory evening to both events for
Parishes and Schools of East Birmingham Deanery at St George and Teresa’s Parish Centre, Station
Road,Dorridge at 7pm. All interested are welcome. Please confirm bookings by phone 01564 772098 or

During this week we will be welcoming Mr David Bench, who is a seminarian for our
Archdiocese, studying at the English College in Valladolid, Spain. David will be staying in our
parish whilst on placement at the Father Hudson’s Centre in Coleshill. Please make him
welcome and keep him in your prayers.
Youth Services There will be an event on Parish Youth Ministry on Mon 29
th. Jan
2018 7pm-9pm, St Mary’s Convent Handsworth, B19 1EB. £5 per
person, incl. a light supper. More details in the porch
Epiphany Party including Our Monthly Bingo – Saturday 6th Jan 2018 after 5:30pm Mass.
Drinks (alcoholic & non-alcoholic) will be provided. There is a sign-up sheet in the porch,

Altar Servers Activities Trip to the Bowling Alley in Acocks Green, Sunday
January 14th . Meet there at 6pm.Altar servers go free but they must be accompanied by an adult family
member. Please sign the sheet in the sacristy if you intend to come. There will be a St Stephen’s Guild
Mass of Thanksgiving on Saturday 17 February 2018 at St Chad’s Cathedral. All servers and their families
are welcome!
Prayer for the Beatification of Venerable Patrick Peyton Lord God, Father Peyton devoted his priestly life to
strengthening the families of the world by calling them to pray together every day, especially the Rosary. We ask you, therefore to hasten the day of his beatification so that your faithful people everywhere who remember his message that
‘the family that prays together stay together’, will imitate him in his devotion to the mother of Your Son, and will be
inspired by his holy life to draw ever closer to you with childlike confidence and love. We ask this through Christ our
Lord, Amen.
