Dear Parishioners and Friends:
“Peace be with you. As the Father has sent me, so I
send you. … Receive the Holy Spirit. Whose sins you
forgive are forgiven them ...” [John 20:21-23a]
Pentecost is not just one day, but rather, a way of becoming church. John’s Gospel of Pentecost is repeated today from Mercy Sunday so that we will have no doubt about the wounds of the body of Christ being the source of our healing and peace. How? Be-cause the medicine of mercy and forgiveness are the root of our salvation! What we have received as gift, as individuals and as an assembly, we are commis-sioned to give as gift. The purpose of the Holy Spirit is the healing, reconciling and the uniting of God’s children.
We congratulate our brothers and sisters who are making their First Holy Communion this Sunday and their families who support them as well. This Sac-rament of Initiation brings them to the table of the Lord to receive him and commune with him as their Savior and intimate friend. How shall we share this communion with others? How will our neophytes share their new life and love with the mission of Jesus to heal a broken world?
Questions for the week: How have I exper ienced the coming of the Holy Spirit in my life? How exactly can we share the renewing presence of the Spirit’s gentle love resting on us? How can I help the Church be reborn?

Queridos feligreses y Amigos:
“La Paz este con ustedes. Como mi Padre me envió, así
los envió yo…Reciban el Espíritu Santo. Los pecados que
perdonen serán perdonados…” [Juan 20:21-23a]
Pentecostés no es solo un día, más bien, es la ma-nera de volvernos iglesia. El Evangelio de Juan de Pen-tecostés se repite hoy del Domingo de Misericordia para que no tengamos duda acerca de las heridas del cuerpo de Cristo que son origen de nuestra sanación y paz. ¿Como? ¡Porque la medicina de la misericordia y el per-dón son las raíces de nuestra salvación! Lo que hemos recibido como regalo, como individuos y como asamblea, estamos mandados a darlo como regalo. La razón del Espíritu Santo es la sanación, reconciliación y la unidad de los hijos de Dios.
Felicitamos a nuestros hermanos y hermanas que hicieron su Primera Santa Comunión este domingo y a sus familias que los ayudaron también. Este Sacramento de Iniciación los trae a la mesa del Señor a recibirlo y a comulgar como su Salvador y amigo íntimo. ¿Cómo de-bemos compartir esta comunión con otros? ¿Cómo nues-tros neófitos compartirán su nueva vida y amor con la misión de Jesús de sanar un mundo roto?
Preguntas de la semana: ¿Cómo he experimentado la venida del Espíritu Santo en mi vida? ¿Cómo exactamen-te podemos compartir la renovada presencia del amor suave del Espíritu descansando en nosotros? ¿Cómo puedo yo ayudar a la Iglesia a renacer?

SIFI! Make a Difference!
Are you upset over the cruel and inhumane treatment of undocumented immigrants? Are you looking for a hands-on way to show your solidarity and support? One concrete step you can take is to volunteer as a remote team member with the Southern Poverty Law Center’s Southeast Immi-grant Freedom Initiative (SIFI).
At home volunteers are needed to conduct telephone in-takes, assist in communications with detainees’ family members, and help out with paperwork and other adminis-trative tasks. On-the ground attorneys, translators, and medical and mental health professionals are also need-ed. Volunteers may sign up for periodic shifts and/or re-spond to requests for assistance. RCIA: The Rite of Chr istian Initiation is a process of initiation for those who want to become Catholic. Actual-
ly the whole parish is involved with RCIA because every-one has a part to play in bearing witness to the fire of Christ among us, sharing by example and friendship what
we are trying to live as the Body of Christ. Each 7:15 PM session on Tuesday evening now is exploring the vision of RCIA as an essential part of the whole parish’s conver-

pathy to Amada, Jose, and Denise, the family of
Maria Del Carmen Delgadillo.
The funeral celebrations were totally heartfelt and
beautiful as could be. May she rest in peace.

Eucharistic Minsters Formation Meeting will be on Wednesday night, May 23 at 7:15 PM in the Conference Room. ALL Eucharistic

tic ministers and interested parishioners are welcome as well.

STEWARDSHIP OF THE LAND: For over 7 years, Joe Woodruff
has been a daily dynamo, caring for the grounds and doing much of the
maintenance in our buildings as well. A few folks have wandered over and
assisted him for a day or for an hour, off and on, or for many months. We
are grateful for their stewardship of holy sweat as well. Helping out, Ste-
ve Johnson opened up the road across the back property to the Knights of
Columbus Hall with a bulldozer. Now we need “laborers for the vine-
yard,” other folks to assist by “adopting areas to maintain.” Besides this
there are MANY things to be done on the grounds and May is the best
month to do it before the heat hits. Please let Joe know if you want to do a
special project area with your buddies or alone. Call’m at 912-337-5917.

22, 2018 at 10am. Join us for fun, fellowship and prizes in the Social Hall. The game will be followed by a light lunch. Please plan to have a Good time and take home some loot!
Church re-decoration: With Easter concluding in Pen-tecost, tomorrow morning [Monday, May 21] after Mass we will need help to pack away Easter and to bring out the summer banners.

CORRESPONSABILIDAD DE LA TIERRA: Por 7 años, Joe
Woodruff ha sido diariamente un dinamo, cuidando nuestros terrenos y
haciendo mucho del mantenimiento en nuestros edificios también.
Unos cuantos amigos se han acercado de vez en cuando a ayudarle por
un día o una hora, de vez en cuando, o por muchos meses. Estamos
agradecidos por esta corresponsabilidad del sudor santo también. Esta
semana pasada, Steve Johnson abrió la calle al atreves de la parte de
atrás de la propiedad al Salón de los Caballeros de Colon con una exca-
vadora. Ahora necesitamos “labradores de la viña” otros amigos para
que nos ayuden a tomar “pequeñas áreas para mantener” Además de
esto hay MUCHAS cosas que necesitan hacerse en los terrenos y mayo
es el mejor mes para hacerlo antes de que el calor nos pegue. Por favor
deje saber a Joe si usted puede hacer algo de este Proyecto especial con
sus amigos o solo. Llame al 912-337-5917. Estará feliz de haberlo he-

La redecoración de la Iglesia: Con la Pascua de resurrección
terminando en Pentecostés, mañana lunes [lunes, 21 de mayo] después de la Misa necesitaremos ayuda para empacar lo de
Pascua y traer afuera los banderines de verano.
