Dear Fellow Parents,
Welcome to the 2017-2018 School Year and the next chapter in our children’s lives. The entireschool community is more vibrant and stronger than ever because of all the students andfaculty who have returned. We also welcome the new students and faculty who have joined ourfamily this year. As we embark on this next step, it is worth beginning with our MissionStatement:
The Mission of St. Mary’s School is to educate the “whole child” –spiritually, emotionally, socially and academically through the collaborative efforts of staff and parents whose livesreflect the Gospel message.
Our St. Mary’s family is truly a gift from God. We share in one another’s laughter, tears, joysand sorrows. We work together harmoniously to ensure a thriving school community. Over theyears, a mix of dedicated faculty and staff collaborating with parents, committed to both theirchild’s education and to the broader continuing success of our School has proven to be aninvestment paying huge dividends for our children. Let’s enter this year with great anticipationon what that formula has always provided.
It is the opportunity to provide the “fair ability to pay” scholarship that is truly unique intoday’s climate. We are proud of the fact that St Mary’s remains a thriving school thatprovides a Catholic education to all who desire it for their children.
Naturally, we could not start the year without our first Home-School meeting being held onSeptember 18, 2017 at 7:00 p.m. in the Carnevale Center. We will be updating you on theCar Raffle as well as pulling the winner of the new Tuition Raffle. Mrs. LaSalle will bereporting on all of the school’s upcoming initiatives and the Back-To-School Night teacherintroductions will take place. The meeting will conclude with leaving time for visitation to ourchildren’s classrooms. Additionally at this meeting there will be the Scrip table, Kid Stuffbooks sales, a 50/50 raffle, a Lifetouch Photo Package raffle and, of course, a snack!
As many of you know our four Home-School meetings during the year are key incommunicating the important responsibilities we all share in financing our school as well asinformation on curriculum and other matters affecting our children. Below is a list of theremainder of the HSA meeting dates. It is quite essential to have at least one parent attendthese informative meetings. Children are encouraged NOT to attend the meetings. Eachmeeting starts at 7:00 p.m. So that you can plan accordingly, the future HSA meetings will beheld on December 4t, March 19th, and May 14th.
On behalf of our HSA Executive Board, Alice Bankutti, Robin Susen , John Watson andmyself Aneta Ferreira we hope you had a great summer and are excited about our upcomingyear! We thank you in advance for all our help and support in making this such a successfulyear for our children; we certainly could not do this without all of YOU!
We look forward to seeing you all on Monday, September 18th !

SCRIP NEWS
Keep the following in mind about the ShopWithScrip program:
This program is about fundraising with everyday shopping while St.Mary’s gets a rebate of the gift cards you buy.
Instead of relying on families to become salespeople like otherfundraising ideas do, families fundraising with scrip are raising moneysimply by changing their method of payment. They won't be spendingextra time, energy, or money on your fundraiser. In fact, once it’s upand running, scrip fundraising is simply integrated into your everydaylife.
The only planning ahead you have to do is deciding what scrip youneed to purchase, and even this revolves around your schedule. Fromtaking on a home improvement project to planning a date night out toeven just buying gas and groceries, you can order scrip beforehandand earn rebates every day!
We looking forward to working with you this year!
