    //GEORGE DELKOS////LIVE//UK DEBUT//GREECE//

This will be the first UK performance for this extra-ordinarily

talented Greek producer. Having seemingly exploded out of

nowhere, George is rapidly becoming a household name and

seems destined for a lengthy career at the very summit of the

techno and house echelons. Having already had releases on

Dezign Music, Audio Therapy, Drag and Drop, Dyami and

Maktub, he recently produced the smash hit single Deftoner

that remained in the Top 10 of the Beatport chart for over a

month! His tracks have been picked up and given huge

acclaim by DJs such as John Digweed, Sasha and Glenn

Morrison, whilst he has remixes made and lined up for the likes

of Hernan Cattaneo, Dubfunk, Sasha and Kosmas Epsilon. We

are absolutely thrilled to have this artist on board for an

    exclusive live performance

    //4D////EXCESSION + JAMES MONRO//

Set up in 1997 to delve deeper into the realms of underground

techno, 4D was created to take dancefloor soundscapes to a

new level. With their joint understanding of the dancefloor and

desire to go even further with production techniques, Grant

and James have developed a sound that is impossible to

categorise. Hypnotic, deep, driving, subtle yet always musical,

are some of the distinctions made. Their main aim is to always

take the listener on a journey deep inside of the machine and

to push the boundaries of what constitutes electronic music

and the listening experience. They have had releases on labelssuch as Iboga, Flow, Flying Rhino, and have recently set up

their own new digital label: 4Digital Audio.

//IGNORANT FAIRY//Ignorant Fairy is the DJ/production project of Ed Hill, one of the founding members of the Furthur Project. Ed

has always looked to remain two steps ahead of the rest of the game, embracing the latest technology and

sounds to expand his sets. Testament to this pioneering attitude is the fact that he has twice finished runner

up in the IDJ Raw Talent competition out of a pool of tens of thousands of entries. His production skills are

also starting to get noticed and draw huge acclaim, he will be releasing music over the coming months with

4DigitalAudio (the new digital label from ex-Flying Rhino heads Grant Collins and James Monro) and, of course,

on Furthur Project Recordings. He also has some exciting new collaboration projects on the horizon with Grant

Collins, and as Dog Soldiers with Roobix Q-Bit.

Algy Strutt is a DJ that never fails to demand your attention. His sheer dedication to the trade is born

out of an unparalleled love for electronic music; so much to say it is highly unlikely that Beatport

knows of a better customer! His unique attention to detail really shines forth in his sets, which pull the

audience through the full spectrum of genres intelligently and with a skilled precision that is always

aware of the wants and demands of the crowd. Algy is also an extremely talented photographer and

graphic designer responsible for many of the amazing graphics at Furthur Project HQ. He helped to

found and establish the company and will be releasing his first compilation on Furthur Project

Recordings just in time for the summer of 2009.

    //STRUTT//

//ERSKINE//Henry Erskine came to attention through

the successful Minimal Mayhem events in

London. He will be playing a special

back-to-back set with Strutt for this party.

A hugely talented DJ in his own right he

has drawn much acclaim for his sets over

the past year including a particularly

impressive showing at the massive Stir

party @ Heaven. Erskine favours the big,

groovy techno numbers that really get the

    room shaking

//ARCHIEHAMILTON//Selected by or two hosts for the

evening from a pile of mixes as the

winner of our DJ competition. Archie

will be warming up the party for us with

some extremely fat techno sounds, we

are delighted to have him on board for

the event as he will most certainly be a

DJ to watch out for in the future.

    //THE ELECTRIC KOOL-AID DJ TEST//

    //8 QUESTIONS FOR GEORGE DELKOS//

As our headliner for the event we posed ten quick questions to George Delkos about music, playing in London and life in

    general

1> Why a DJ? ( why not a carpenter or a firefighter or a banker perhaps?)

GD: Well first of all a producer...It has been an unbeatable love for me since the first party I went to in Germany back in thedays. It was a dream for me to make my own music and play music that I like.

2> First time I remember moving unconsciously to the beat:

GD: Hmmmm, at childhood I guess? Not really sure about it :P

3> Dance music is: (one word answers are considered insufficient and will not constitute an acceptable answer for passing thetest :P)

GD: Its like coffee and cigarettes in the morning, you cant wake up without them :D

4> The electronic sound is already past the playground stage and well over its teenage years, how does the future look? (Youmust have a better view from up there!)

GD: I think no one can really tell... The good thing is that with the evolution in technology the scene will have more and morethings to show. I personally believe that music is something like the sea: sometimes calm and peaceful and sometimes windy

    and wavy... Time will tell

5> Most unforgettable applause was the one after my set in because... (eg. because my mother was in the audience and/orthey were clapping with relief that the rain had finally stopped etc... Please expand accordingly)

GD: It was surely after my set at Bora Bora in Greece with the guys from Minilogue... I was really happy to see people that likedharder music and gave me credits for a not so hard tech-house DJ set. It was truly something I will remember all my life.

6> Most embarrassing mistake while performing:

GD: At a private party we got all drunk and the record was over and I was speaking with a friend...yeah pretty horrible I know :PBut he was telling me the next lotto numbers :P (just kidding)

7> When Im home I listen to: (promise it will stay between us)

GD:All kinds of music...mostly flamenco and ethnic music But I listen to almost every type of music that I like.

    8> London is: (we know...)

GD: After Berlin I think London is the place for a DJ and producer to be... Open-minded people, nice clubs, and of course greatshopping!!!

    //A WORD FROM YOUR HOSTS//

Spyros: Okay guts lets start: I guess we would have to start with the basics, my initial question is since I know Furthur Projectfrom previous events how come you decided to give a techno-ish edge to this event?

Algy (Strutt): Well, I think that the feeling was that after the summer when wed taken a long break after our last party in Marchwe basically regrouped after all the festivals and came up with a new concept where we wanted to expand from simply doing

the events at 93 Feet East to releasing music and becoming a record label as such. The events still remained very much at theheart of our plans but as we had five or six people involved in the project we thought instead of having all of us involved in each

party we would have two people in charge of each event

Spyros: To give it a bit of variety?

Ed (Ignorant Fairy): I think it was too much, for a day party with limited time available for sets and only one room, to have sixpeople involved in each party when everyone is a DJ. This obviously makes it hard for everyone behind the party to be satisfied

and it was always one or two people taking more control.

Spyros: Although I guess this way it gives a different perspective in each party, to give it a different edge each time?

Algy: Well me and Ed were lucky enough to be given the first party in the new format and were both avid techno and tech-house fans so we wanted to give it that vibe. And also over the summer a lot of festivals a lot of supposed psy-trance festivalshave been rocking the techno. I mean you look at Boom Festival with the success of the new groovy beach stage with acts like

Extrawelt being one of the highlights of the entire festival, and also Glade where Ans and Allaby played a techno special on the

main stage. So, I think people are starting to look at this new sound and take interest, so we felt confident that people fromwithin the psy and progressive trance scenes that we catered for last year were ready for this kind of event.

Ed: I think all of Sunday at the origin stage at glade this year was techno? And that is usually reserved purely for progressivepsy-trance and now its moved on to something else

Spyros: So when we are talking about people we are still talking about our familiar and loving psy-trance scene which can be

evolving as well along with the Furthur Project? Or are we talking about something bigger than that? We are talking aboutsomething that would include a different crowd as well? Which kind of crowd do you have in mind when you are talking about

    the people?

Ed: I think both. I think we were always looking to expand towards a new crowd, and also obviously looking to take our oldcrowd who may or may not know so much about this new kind of music, along with us. But, you know, thats what is so

exciting, because its going to be different now every time with how this new host format is; because sometimes you may get aprogressive party but this time they are going to hear something new as far as our events so far have been concerned. And for

those reasons its exciting for us to be involved.

Algy: Whats great for us as well is not to be stuck to one particular genre but to look to explore all different types of electronicmusic through these events. Because in some shape or form there are various bits of psychedelia in all of this music and thatsthe whole idea of creativity and music production, that there are these new avenues to explore. Obviously we are not saying

that this some ground breaking party or anything like that its just something we wanted to do to give our artists more

expression through having the opportunity to host their own events and allow for us to dabble in different styles.

Ed: I think with this new format each party will become a reflection of what each of the hosts are into at that moment in time, and I think that with me and Algy running this party we wanted to give a reflection of the music that we enjoy at this moment in

time rather than trying to cater to a set crowd because thats not really the point of what we are trying to do here. We want to

share with the people a wide variety of music and when we started this project we knew that between our group there was alot of different tastes between us as has been reflected in previous events when weve all been playing, but this way there will

be more of a focus towards focusing on two peoples tastes and fitting headliners around that, shifting the focus more on onetype of music for each event. So hopefully we can blend all the different scenes together over the course of our events and find

that middle ground between the techno and trance scenes because there is a lot of familiar ground.

    Continued on next page

In the lead up to the main event Spyros sat down with

your two hosts for the event to conduct an interview to

find out exactly what was going on at Furthur Project

HQ, what exactly is a party host, and why squat parties

are off the agenda for the time being!

    //A WORD FROM YOUR HOSTS::CONTINUED//

    Continued from previous page.

Spyros: So what do you think of the party scene in London at the moment? Lets use the term party scene as we dont wantlimit ourselves in terminology like psy-trance crowd, or psy trance scene, or techno crowd or techno scene What about the

electronic music scene in London, what do you think about that?

Algy: Its massive at the moment! Were pretty spoiled for choice across the spectrum. Take this weekend for instance. Thereare two massive psy-trance parties with Acid Monkey on Friday and 7th Heaven on Saturady , then were on Sunday, along with

Wet Yourself, and then also on Friday Bar Rumba is re-launching and again on Saturday and thats going to be massive tech-

house, theyve got Mike Monday; also Sasha is playing the new club at the 02 on Saturady, and thats just listing 3, 4, 5 off the

cuff of parties that I know are going on. So, its awesome and its great to be involved in weekends like this.Ed: I think as well, you know, its a big weekend in London and its great for us to be the sort of last word. Take Glade again forinstance it seems that its embedded in British culture that if youre gonna do a festival youre gonna have as much fun as you

possibly can on the Sunday regardless or not of whether youve gotta go to work on the Monday morning, so, you know, thatsvery nice for us that we cap off a big weekend and hopefully contribute to creating that festival atmosphere and mentality in

and around London, especially with us being in the East End where there seems to be a great crowd of people looking for

something to do on a Sunday and keep the party going!

Spyros: Okay, so, going backwards then now, since we started with this particular party, how about the logic behind FurthurProject in general? What was the spark that triggered the whole thing? Where did it start, the whole thing? Or, what made you

    be involved in that?

Ed: I think that for the most part we are all involved in it in some point or another up in Leeds, just doing parties

Algy: Yeah I just got asked to play by the guys one night up in Leeds, it was one of my first proper gigs, it was small but prettyawesome. It was exciting doing it there so we all thought it would be good to bring it with us down to London and its just sort

of evolved from there, and of course I wanted to be a part of that. Also we run it in a way so that its not all absorbing and weshare the work around as with the events, which is great because it gives us time to do other things and take it at our own

pace. Its just a way of giving something back to the scene that we all love, really

Spyros: What about the other organisers or promoters in London you think to be moving in a similar direction to where youregoing?

Ed: I wouldnt say were moving towards any particular set targets, we just work hard at creating a reflection of what it is thatwere in to and sharing that with as many people as possible.

Algy: Yeah, and after our party on Sunday well all be rocking down to Wet Yourself at the Aquarium to check out the vibetheyve got going on. Actually the two seem to coincide quite well as they start when we finish, so anyone with the day off on

    Monday should come along afterwards

Spyros: But you are co-operating some other teams,? Some events?

Algy: weve got various things like our relationship with Liquid (Records) and the Alpha Omega events which (Liquid) Ross hasasked us to do a room at again in November. Which is great because under our own steam I dont think wed have the funds to

put on such a massive event and so its amazing that theyve taken us under their wing for this project as its always special tobe a part of these kinds of parties

Ed: Liquid have always been a huge support and I know that Hamish in particular has worked with them for many years andtheyve been a great contact for us and we have a lot of respect for what they are doing. But weve been involved with other

promoters too in other events, some have been successful, and some havent so much

Algy: Were always looking for collaborations

Spyros: As long as the other partner would be offering something interesting?

    Ed: Yeah, no squats!Algy: Yeah

Spyros: Is there a specific approach to that?

    Algy: Well, err

Ed: I think Algy had a bad experience last time he played at one?

Algy: I almost got arse raped by some guy when I was going for a piss and decided after that that I wouldnt be going toanymore of those! I was pretty trashed at the time so I didnt really know how to deal with it but luckily I managed to bail out of

    there pretty swift!
