FPC HOUSE CHURCH Service of the Lord’s Day – July 12, 2020

Greetings and Announcements Prayer of Preparation

God of grace, you have given us minds to know you, hearts to love you, and voices to sing your praise. Fill us with your Spirit that we may celebrate your glory and worship you in spirit and in truth, through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen

Prelude Give Thanks arr. Wolaver *Gathering Words

One: Sing to the Lord a new song; All: sing to the Lord, all the earth. One: Sing to the Lord, praise God’s name; All: Proclaim God’s salvation day after day. (Psalm 96) *Hymn Morning Has Broken Prayer of Confession

Holy and merciful God, in your presence we confess our sinfulness, our shortcomings, and our offenses against you. You alone know how often we have sinned in wandering from your ways, in wasting your gifts, in forgetting your love. *Affirmation of Faith In life and in death we belong to God. Through the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, the love of God, and the communion of the Holy Spirit, we trust in the one triune God, the Holy One of Israel, whom alone we worship and serve. We trust in Jesus Christ, fully human, fully God. Jesus proclaimed the reign of God: preaching good news to the poor and release to the captives, teaching by word and deed and blessing the children, healing the sick and binding up the brokenhearted, eating with outcasts, forgiving sinners, and calling all to repent and believe the gospel. (a Brief Statement of Faith)

Commissioning of Workcampers Prayers of the People The Lord be with you.

And also with you…

Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be Thy name. Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done, on earth as it is in heaven.

Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our debts as we forgive our debtors. Lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil, For Thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory,

forever, Amen. *Hymn Though I May Speak *Blessing *Postlude Clare Benediction arr. Rutter

The music is the setting for the following benediction:

May the Lord show his mercy upon you; May the light of his presence be your guide: May he guard you and uphold you; May his spirit be ever by your side. When you sleep, may his angels watch over you; When you wake, may he fill you with his grace: May you love him and serve him all your days, Then in heaven may you see his face. May the Lord’s loving kindness surround you; Keep you safe as your journey on your way: May he lead you and inspire you As he grants you the gift of each new day. May he bless all your loved ones and cherish them; Ev’ry friend, ev’ry stranger at your door: In the name of his Son, our Saviour Christ, May God bless you now and evermore.
