    I. Welcome & Introductions- Sarah ReimersA. Very happy to see a large number of new kinder families at meeting.

    II. Special Thanks- Hospitality & Beautification Teams and all August volunteersA. Thanks to the Hospitality committee, Ralph's volunteers, the Beautification team, and new committeechairs.

    III. School/Instructional ReportsA. Principal Report- Ms. Olivia Adams

    1. Ms. Adams really appreciates the parental involvement at Walgrove.1. 2. She wants to continue parental involvement and make sure all families are included.

    3. Attendance and arriving on time are very important.B. Differentiation Support Provider- Lynn Webster2. 1. Her job is to support the teachers through extra small group instruction with the students.

    2. Six teachers have signed up to be on the Technology Committee.

    IV. Special Elections- Approval of Slate for 2011-2012 Officers1. A. The new board was approved by a vote of 41 yes votes to 0 no votes.V. Officer and Council Reports

    A. President- Sarah Reimers1. 1. The goal is for families to be informed and involved.2. Budget

    1. 3. Walgrove Cliff Notes- list of terms4. Make sure to join Yahoo group and look at website for information.

    B. Treasurer Pro Tem- Mark Sim1. We are looking for a new Treasurer.2. We have a new reimbursement of expenses policy. To be reimbursed, expense reimbursement

    1. forms and receipts must now be turned in within 60 days of incurring the expense.IV. C. Fundraising- Lisa Tauscher, Michelle Dean and Lynn Jones

    1. Ralphs Community Contributions

    a. Link your Ralphs club card to the FOW program.b. Returning families need to re-enroll each September.c. We made close to $12,000 from this program last year.

    V. 2. Whale of a Sale Yard Sale- October 1a. We made $7,000 from this event last year.

    VI. b. Drop-offs start next week.1. c. There will also be a bake sale at this event.

    a. This is our biggest fundraiser.b. Next week is Annual Fund Week.

    1. c. We are asking for $750-$1000 per child. Can be divided up into monthly contributions.4. Ms. Adams reported that if you sign up for a Target Red Card, it can be linked directly to the

    school.

    5. Walgroovies- community building parties. Our annual Friendraiser will be held October 15 from2. 6-8 p.m.D. School Site Council- John Fischer

    1. The council's job is the governance of monies the school receives.1. 2. Will meet a minimum of 6 times a year.

    3. There will be an orientation meeting for the CEAC and ELAC on October 7 and the elections for1. these bodies will be on October 14.VI. Old Business2. A. Review of the approved 2011/2012 Budget.VII. New Business

    3. A. Committee Co-Chairs1. Hospitality- Warner Takaki and Cynde Cassell2. Beautification- we are looking for co-chairs for this team.3. Publications/Communications- Caroline Diaz and we are looking for a co-chair.4. Library- Lisa Haase and Brandi Oeser5. Educational Vision Task Force- Amy Johnson and Norah Ashe-McNalley6. Fundraising- Lisa Tauscher, Michelle Dean and Lynn Jones

    B. Committee sign-ups: clip boards passed around at meeting and will be at Back to School Night.C. Community Garden Event- Michael Stenger

    1. Garden Harvest Party Fundraiser- raises money for school gardens.2. He recommends we pay the $75/year dues to be part of the Venice Chamber of Commerce.
