ON THE COVER:
“I really came to admire the
business school faculty as
an undergrad, and that’s
carried over into my M.B.A.
The difference now is that
I have this amazing group
of fellow students to learn
with and from, people from
every possible background
and walk of life. One woman
does French pastry, another
is a firefighter, and another
is an engineer. I came initially
for the value and convenience
that Robert Morris offers.
I did an internship with the
Bayer Center for Nonprofit
Management, and that really
helped me to see the quality
of my M.B.A. training.”

FOUNDATIONS FOR SUCCESS.
“Our approach is to
leverage all of the
experience that walks
into the classroom,
both the teacher’s
and the students’.
When we apply that
collective business
knowledge to a class
project or a case study
discussion, students
see how a lesson can
be applied across
many business sectors.
Our students find that
kind of learning to
be both very practical
and engaging.”
Joseph M. Correa, Ph.D.,
Professor of Management
“I had more than 10 years of experience working for a nonprofit, and I was looking for a graduate program
that would enhance my experiential knowledge – teach me how to interpret financial data, clarify labor
laws and human resource issues, and highlight best practices for board governance. The M.S. in Nonprofit
Management program at RMU offered the exact combination of practical knowledge and skill-building I
was looking for. And the cohort model allowed me to network with, and learn from, colleagues in the field.”

lot in my job as a drug rep for a major pharmaceutical firm. The program and the faculty have been
very supportive, working with me around scheduling conflicts and helping me to plan ahead.
It’s the kind of hands-on, personal attention you expect from a private university.”

“I’m impressed by the
high level of expertise
among the M.B.A.
faculty. These are people
who’ve really made a
mark in their respective
industries. The other
thing that attracted
me is convenience.
I can take classes at
the main campus,
downtown or in Butler
or Cranberry. When
you’re working full-time
and attending school,
options are critical.”
Tony Marino, M.B.A. Student,
Westinghouse
“At the graduate level, the challenge to students is to pair a theoretical understanding of consumer behavior
with its everyday marketing application. I present the class with a timely and relevant marketing issue, and have
them work in teams. Through that process, they learn the most valuable lesson, which is that there are no more
silos of expertise in the business world. Your ability to work effectively in groups will define your future.”
Jill Maher, Ph.D., Associate Professor of Marketing
