Since childhood I’ve been fascinated by nature. In my early years I was always curious and enjoyed adventures to find new places. My mother no-ticed that I was a good observer so for my tenth birthday my father gave me a Polaroid camera. However, it has only been within the last 5 years that I’ve had the time to grown my passion for photography.
I prefer to create images in black and white where elements such as contrast, shape, and volume are much more evident. Black and white images allow me to use more of my imagination leading to a greater freedom of interpretation. I mainly pho-tograph landscapes and buildings simply because I like them.
For me, photography is a wonderful way to com-municate and, at the same time, provides me the opportunity to feel emotions. This is why most of my images possess balance, harmony, and tran-quility. While searching for that perfect subject to photograph I’m not always sure if it’s me looking for the subject or if the subject is looking for me.
When that meeting does takes place it generates an image that perfectly reflects me and my person-ality. I believe that each photographer’s personal style is derived from their personal life experience. In the end, a photograph must remain poetic.
My collection of photographs are the result of five years of work and experimentation in long exposure photography. This kind of photography requires a different rhythm in which time be-comes the essential element. I take my time when composing this type of image. In between shots I have time to live, time to experience the atmo-sphere, time to reflect, and time to study the next field. This is a great way for me to escape from the normal flow of reality and to create a world that my eyes would not be able to see otherwise. Long exposures reveal a different world where the dynamism of the sky is emphasized in opposition to the eternal movement of the water that instead becomes frozen and stretched like a silk dress. The time, which may be different according to several conditions, is immortalized, taken and then enclosed in a single image.

I wish to thank in particular a photographer friend that in recent years has helped and advised me. For me, he is a great talent and a very generous and helpful person. His name is Philippe Mougin. Many other people have also been part of my photographic life: from my first teacher of photography, Professor Quadri, to my teacher Gabriella Corti, to all the members of the photo club in Capriasca, and to all those who have given me encouragement at Foto-blur. I want to conclude with a warm gratitude to my father, who is no longer with us, for giving me my first camera and the opportunity to grow this passion.
