WHAT’S IN A NAME?At Formech we are very proud of our name and what we have achieved over 30 years in the world of vacuum-forming. Building the right machine to perfectly satisfy our customers’ needs is our concern.

Many of our customers are happy to testify that we have gained a reputation for being friendly, approachable, honest and above all professional. We can help you choose the right model from our range of desktop machines right up to the larger industrial machines for more demanding applications. And as one of our valued customers we will be pleased to support you thereafter.

Even if you do need something special, our team of designers and engineers can create a bespoke machine specific to your needs, at an affordable cost and within acceptable time scales.

So What Is In a Name? We invite you to look through this catalogue and we hope you will discover that the Formech name is one to be trusted. That it stands for reliability, value for money, quality engineering and excellent friendly care and support. Our customer list reads like a Who’s Who, which means our machines are being used by some of the most demanding names in the world of industry, education, crafts and the professions.

Buy a Formech machine and you will be in great company!

TECHNOLOGY & INNOVATION

We constantly strive to improve the ways in which customers use our machines.

We were one of the first companies to introduce ceramic heaters for our smaller machines and then for environmental reasons to be one of the first to upgrade them to quartz. Now with our 508DT model we are one of the first companies in the world to launch a desktop vac-former with a memory capability.

The lines on the new 508 models are smooth, sleek and aesthetically pleasing, with the goal of making the overall design of the machine look more modern and right up to date with the latest technology for the new look schools and technology colleges, hospital clinics and R&D laboratories. The 508 is the first in the next generation of Formech machines.

PRE SALES SERVICEAt Formech our experience has taught us that customers are like snowflakes no two are the same. Each company has different requirements from a machine and each of our machines is designed for a different use. We will never try to sell you a machine that is over qualified for its purpose, nor would we attempt to sell you a machine that won’t meet your expectations and requirements. At Formech we will only ever sell you one thing – the perfect solution.

Whilst accountants will expect value for money, we know users will want vac-formers that are simple to operate, provide sufficient heat and power without wasting energy, create perfect formings using a range of plastics and require only low cost maintenance and needless to say are completely safe.

If you need to see a machine in action before deciding to make a purchase we are always pleased to arrange a demo for you. These can be at our production facilities but more often than not our existing customers are only too happy to allow us to demonstrate at their premises and for you to see the machines in production. Alternatively, we also maintain a large library of video material on the dedicated You Tube Formech Channel.

Unlike some of our competitors we will not charge excessive prices for the sake of a badge on the front of a machine. This means that we can produce the same high quality machines and invaluable support and experience at a price that is true to our product and our customers, not a fabricated mark up to suit our market position.

AFTER SALES CARE & SUPPORT

Together our people and customers form an elite group - the Formech Community. Through our new website forums, social networking sites and knowledge transfer hubs there will be real people to communicate with, supported by a vast wealth of data and experience, that you can call upon for help with your new purchase and applications. We can also help with regular service programmes and extended warranties. There is a readily available supply of spare

parts and consumables. We do find that regular servicing by our staff can also help prevent problems before they happen.

If there are any persistent problems we can despatch one of our trained service engineers to your premises. Alternatively, in some cases we would swap your machine with a new one or have the machine returned to base to allow our engineers to investigate more thoroughly.

Here at Lush Fresh Handmade Cosmetics we produce many molded items that are poured into custom made molds. The forming machine supplied to us by Formech has met our demand perfectly. My service rep is always available when service is needed and parts are always received in a very timely matter, although in 6 years the machine has only broke down once and it was up and running smooth in no time.

I will continue to use Formech for all our in house mold production as the service has been excellent every time.

I work with a formech 300XQ making theatre masks that we sell all over the world. We have recently been having some user problems with our machine and I phoned up for some advice yesterday. Although the guy who usually services them is away on holiday, a lovely chap called Martin came over to help me straight away! Within half an hour he was with me fixing my machine. He did a great job and gave me some very useful tips. Can I just state how incredibly grateful I am for the amazing quick response we received. Trestle Theatre Company runs its mask department on the bare minimum in staff and resources and I would have been in a serious pickle without the help of Martin. You Rock

“We did a good amount of research here at the Art Center College of Design in order to determine which thermoformer would suit our purposes best. What interested me about Formech FM660, was its ease of use for the students. The students can be shown how it is operated in a short amount of time, and then can quickly be off on their own. The projects that are produced here have to meet industry standards, and it is vital that our students have access to first-rate facilities. After trading a few phone calls and emails with Nic, our sales representative, we decided that the Formech FM660 would be the perfect fit for the school’s needs. I have been very pleased with the process and the 660 turned out to be much more affordable than we would have imagined.

I can’t thank you enough Formech!”Joe Kohnke – Model Shop Manager

“At Joint Active Systems we create rehabilitation devices for “Range of Motion” therapy. To these devices, we attach custom cuffs that are created by our Formech vacuum formers. This custom cuff process involves shaping very thick pieces of plastic and foam in order to provide a proper, custom-feeling fit to our patients. The larger FM1 and ‘1372’ machines are a great match for our process. We are now up to our fourth Formech machine and each of them work very hard to keep up with our daily production needs. Recently we had two of the Formech staff on site to install our new ‘1372’. They also refurbished our existing machines and helped advise us on how to increase the life of our machines. It’s good to know that we can rely on a company like Formech with these formers being such an integral part of our daily operations.”

Formech proved committed to support our demands for a simple yet effective solution. We have a range of machines from various suppli-ers and many features not being used – Formech proved that with a cost effective machine we could achieve the results our customers were demanding and with the cycle times we specified. We are subsequently in discussions with Formech in relation to further on-going thermoforming requirements. The bespoke nature of this project has allowed us to produce 1000 cycles per week on a regular basis for the last 3 years.

We, Gratnells Ltd would like to say that in the years that we have been dealing with Formech Ltd. We have had good service from both the staff and the machines that we purchased. Our latest M/C is so easy to operate and now that we have a maintenance contact with Formech worry and trouble free. We started out some years ago with one tool, with the expectation of producing 10,000 units per Annum, now we are producing nearly 20,000 per month on our two M/Cs and have 20 or so easily Interchangeable tools, some with plug assist and some quite deep and complex tools which our operators can change and use very quickly.

In conclusion, we have seen a lot of changes to the way Formech has dealt with our needs and all have helped us to achieve the smooth running of this department.

It was very important that we would be able to continue to provide the blister packs that were required across the Group. The training and after sales support we received from Formech helped us to start production as soon as the machine was in place. I would fully recom-mend Formech to my colleagues across the Group and if we had further requirements in the future we would definitely turn to Formech.

Support:Together our people and customers form an elite group - the Formech Community. Through our new website fo-rums, social networking sites and knowledge transfer hubs there will be real people to communicate with, supported by a vast wealth of data and experience that you can call upon for help with your new purchase and applications. As part of this modern day approach there are a series of new micro sites being constructed.

The first site came on stream to coincide with the K2010 Trade Show in Dusseldorf, Germany, and has been launched to support our new and growing band of FR series users.

The site provides design files, pdfs and video tutorials, which are being updated constantly with new support material. It also includes an online forum in which partici-pating customers can make suggestions and propose new ideas. Early signs are that the forum is working particularly well as a self-support mechanism for the more pioneering of our customers who are becoming ever more adventur-ous with their designs.
