7.5 Is there a risk of long term build up of pollutants in the environment from these sources?

No Not applicable.

8. Risk of accidents during construction or operation of the Project, which could affect human health or the environment S. No. Information/Checklist

confirmation Yes/No Details thereof (with approximate quantities/ rates,

wherever possible) with source of information data

8.1 From explosions, spillages, fires etc from storage, handling, use or production of hazardous substances.

No No hazardous substance is used or produced during the proposed mining operations. Portable fire extinguisher has been provided during mining operations.

8.2 From any other causes Yes Risk of accidents are expected: During loading of minerals into truck/ tractors/ trolley. During transportation.

Accidents can be avoided by adopting good safety practices.

8.3 Could the project be affected by natural disasters causing environmental damage (e.g. floods, earthquakes, landslides, cloudburst etc)?

Yes The topography of the contract area, lying in river plain, is such that it can be affected due to disaster in the form of flash flood during monsoon period. However, during monsoon period, no mining activities have been envisaged, thus the attendant risk to the mine workers is

non-existent. The contract area lies within Seismic Zone- II as per seismic zoning map of India.

9. Factors which should be considered (such as consequential development) which could lead to environmental effects or the potential for cumulative impacts with other existing or planned activities in the locality. S. No. Information/Checklist confirmation Yes/No Details thereof (with approximate quantities/

rates, wherever possible) with source of information data

9.1 Lead to development of supporting facilities, ancillary development or development stimulated by the project which could have impact on the environment e.g. - Supporting infrastructure (roads, power supply, waster or wastewater treatment, etc.) - housing development - extractive industries - supply industries - other

Yes

The supporting facilities are already in place, which shall be augmented to cater to the additional requirement. Project will result in further growth of the surrounding area by increasing direct and indirect employment opportunities in the region

9.2 Lead to after-use of the site, which could have an impact on the environment.

No Mining site is replenished during monsoon to extracted level hence the ultimate land use of the mine lease area will not change after systematic and scientific mining.

9.3 Set a precedent for later developments. Yes Riverbed mining will be channelized the river flow and the present deposition are of good quality and can be used for building industries.

9.4 Have cumulative effects due to proximity to other existing or planned projects with similar effects.

Yes The area is free from any disturbances. There are not any industries or development projects in its close proximity.

ENVIRONMENTAL SENSITIVITY S. No.
