PURPOSE OF THE POSITION The WWF-Indonesia forest program has focus on sustainable forest governance and management as a wholistic strategy to protect forest cover, carbon stock, ecosystem/habitat, biodiversity, and communities. Working closely with sustainable market and forest management governance. WWF - IKEA partnership has been running since 2012 and is currently entering stage 7 under agreed written partnership. Phase 7 is a continuation and foundation of the previous phase where WWF Indonesia and IKEA cooperate to promote the expected standard forms towards sustainable forest management and encourage improvements in supply chain of several commodities that are considered sustainable (green and fair product for producers/suppliers and market). Forest Partnership Project Leader will lead the project implementation of the IKEA Phase 7 project and strategically engaged with partners to drive landscape scale project implementation as well as coordinate the implementation of forest partnership program, and ensure the program/project runs effectively, contextually, and consistently in accordance with the strategy, targets, and budget allocations of WWF- Indonesia. III. JOB DIMENSION Forest Partnership Project Leader is a position who will be responsible for overseeing the forest partnership engagement of WWF-Indonesia, project implementation, administration, monitoring and evaluation, and reporting of the program to ensure that it achieves the intended targeted impacts as stated on the project’s document and WWF-Indonesia’s forest program strategy. This position will support the strategic relationships and engagement with government agencies, private/markets, and community leaders in close coordination with related WWF Indonesia’s team where technical decisions and actions are made, to achieve multi-stakeholder governance models for whole HCV landscape management and protection, and meeting the BMP and forest certification standards, sustainability principles, and traceability towards sustainable forest management approach for the benefits of nature and people. products through mandatory (PHPL-VLK) and voluntary scheme certification (FSC or others) that are recognized by the global market. The job locations are distributed to some sites in Kalimantan, Sumatera, Java and Papua with commodities: rattan, bamboo and wood which are managed by community groups and forest concessions.

The agreed standards include the certified Forest Stewardship Council (FSC), SVLK, and other standards recognized by the government and the market in a broad sense.

He/She will ensure all activities on different locations and themes can be executed in a timely manner and spend the budget efficiently and effectively. For the implementation of some activities, there are already persons in charge, so it is deemed necessary for good coordination between different themes, locations, and units at all levels. Beside that this position has rules to participate and contribute to the forest policy/governance issues in national & global level.

Forest Partnership Project Leader runs a coordination and control mechanism for activities which can be tracked through the terms of reference for activities, contract for consultant/ third party, submission of advance activities, travel, and attendance in every strategic meeting for engagement with government, local community and other party as assigned by supervisor.

To consult on substantial matters and strategic policies, IKEA Partnership Project Leader shall initiate a meeting/ call with the Head of Forest & Freshwater Program and involve the Head of Climate & Market Transformation when necessary , also coordinating with the person in charge of each outcome under IKEA project.

Internal Working relationships: • People & Operation Division:

- Coordination with People & Culture on people management such as developing manpower planning; recruitment & selection; strategy for staff development, mentoring, couching and/or counselling; employment regulations and benefit issues.

- Coordination with General Support on procurement and asset management.

- Coordination with Legal Unit about legal issues including drafting and editing the legal documents such as corporate/vendor contract and/or partnership agreements.

• Finance & Administration Division: Coordination with Finance & Unit on grant/budgeting and accounting process.

• Quality & Program Development Division: Coordination and consultation for all relevant process on project/program execution (planning, monitoring, evaluation, and reporting)

IV. MAIN JOB AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Project Management

• Provide lead support for the team in project implementation, ensuring that desired outputs are delivered and that outcomes are achieved within the appropriate level of quality, timely manner, and within budget, in accordance with the program/project plan as outlined by the respective donor.

• Responsible for developing the Annual Work Plan for IKEA project team and submitting all work plan documents (AWP, Budget Plan, HR Plan, and Procurement Plan) to related supporting units.

• Responsible in developing a scientific topic framework relevant to IKEA project and implementing it in coordination with Conservation Experts/Advisor

• Contribute to the implementation of Sustainable Forest Management issues in national and global/network level, especially FSC and PHPL-VLK certification scheme.

• Lead the due diligence process for the prospective consultants of the project and monitor the level of quality of their deliverables.

• Proactively identify and address opportunities and challenges to the project arising internally or externally, including by adjusting project strategies and approaches, resolving issues, and initiating appropriate corrective action.

• Ensure effective quality assurance and the overall integrity of the project according to WWF-Indonesia policy by defining project success criteria, monitoring, and evaluating performance with respect to these criteria, and communicating progress to involved team members, parties, and partners throughout the project life cycle.

• Build effective networking, engagement, and communication with all key stakeholders, from government, donor, private sector, CSO, and others, towards securing concrete partnerships to leverage project work and results.

• Ensure effective coordination and information flows within the IKEA Project Team and other initiatives under the Forest & Freshwater portfolio of WWF Indonesia.

• Ensure the maintenance of program systems, including budget management and project M&E systems, to support the effective and timely use of project resources as well as ensure technical and financial reporting in compliance with WWF-Indonesia standard requirements, including formats and

deadlines, as well as ensuring all mandatory project documents that have been completed are stored in the project repository system.

• Responsible to ensure that the terms and conditions set for program development are in line with safeguard principles and are adhered to;

• Responsible for managing all risks including risk identification; updating the risk information in the risk register; monitoring risk development; monitoring and reviewing mitigating controls; and coordinating and reviewing the implementation of action plans for risk mitigation.

• Promote integration, collaboration, and innovation amongst practices across Forest team and IKEA projects.

Monitoring, Evaluation, Reporting

• Monitor work plans and reports outcomes periodically to the Head of Forest & Freshwater as direct supervisor and Head of Climate & Market Transformation as matrix supervisor.

• Accountable in ensuring the project team are providing regular monthly reports/updates of the progress in implementing their Annual Work Plan (AWP).

• Responsible in reporting and reviewing the status of their project every 3 months (quarterly) to their supervisor, and in writing a Technical Progress Report for IKEA project every 6 months (December and June) that would be sent to their donors.

• Responsible in supervising audit process of their project once it contracts ends and fulfilling all project requirements as stated in the project contract.

• Responsible in submitting all knowledge documents produced by IKEA project into project repository system.

External Partnership Management

• Responsible to manage the strategic engagement and communication with relevant stakeholders and IKEA counterparts.

• Facilitate strategic outreach and cultivate relationships with potential partners, donors, and stakeholders.

• Develop and oversee development of communications materials, such as concept notes and presentations, targeting existing and prospective partners and stakeholders of project, and oversee the dissemination of reports related to project activities.

V. REQUIREMENT

Education & Experience Required:

• University degree in Forestry, Social Science, Environmental Science, Natural Resources Management or another relevant subject.

• Minimum 5-10 years of working experience in relevant field, with program implementation and project management experience.

• Direct hands-on experience in project management (e.g. planning, budgeting) and grant management (e.g. due diligence, financial monitoring).

• Ability to manage projects with strong critical thinking and creative problem-solving skills and balance attention to detail with big-picture thinking.

• Ability to manage professional relationships and to effectively communicate with people at all levels and from various backgrounds.

• Proven experience at managing complex stakeholders. • Highly organized and systematic with strong time management skills and

ability to juggle competing priorities and deadlines required. • Excellent oral and written communication skills in both English and Bahasa

Indonesia.

• Ability to write and speak in an organized, clear, and articulate manner for a wide range of audiences including local governments, local private sector and smallholders, local NGOs, local communities, donors, and partners.

• Ability to travel domestically and internationally when needed.
