    Dear sir madam

I am writing in connection with an article I read on your newspaper about forest fires as

I am seriously concerned about the issue. I firmly believe forest fires are big

catastrophes with disastrous effects on people and the environment.

There are different causes for wildfires. Some of them are, of course, natural such aslightning. However, most commonly are started by human negligence. Intentional arson,

unattended campfires and controlled agricultural burns have caused a number of

massive fires. Whether is caused by human carelessness or naturally occurring, the

notable effect is the destruction of houses and fields. In order to protect people, homes

and environment evacuation and prevention plans should be set

As forest fires are part of nature they have a important role in maintaining the balance of

the ecosystem. Actually, they are useful to clean the forest from harmful insects and

diseased plants. An added benefit is an increase ofin! sunlight which enables the

growth of new plants. "ut there is a substantial difference on the effects, when the

fre#uency is too high it will have devastating impact on the ecosystem, not onlystopping the natural cycle of these forests, but also encouraging growth of fire resistant

plants which are normally invasive species.

$oreover, I would li%e to stress that fires are polluting the air with emissions that are

harmful to human health. &ires also releases carbon dio'ide in the atmospheres, the

most important greenhouse gas, which is responsible for the global warming that our

    planet is suffering..

In conclusion, wildfires have many purposes in nature, sometimes positive and

sometimes negative, depending on the fre#uency and the cause. (evertheless, if we

wanted a sustainable future in my opinion, humans need to become aware and educated

of the conse#uences of their negligence.

focused on helping in fire prevention and elimination, ensuring that there is coordinated

    plan with resources.
