FORCE
A FORCE IS A PUSH OR A PULL. IF FORCES ARE POWERFUL ENOUGH, THEY MAY RESULT IN MOTION.
What is a force?
IF THE NET FORCE ACTING ON AN OBJECT IS ZERO, THE OBJECT REMAINS AT REST, OR IF IT IS ALREADY MOVING, IT REMAINS MOVING.
Newton’s first law of motion
STATIC FRICTION - OCCURS WHEN AN OBJECT IS AT REST
SLIDING FRICTION - WHEN AN OBJECT IS SLIDING ACROSS A SURFACE
ROLLING FRICTION - WHEN AN OBJECT IS ROLLING ACROSS A SURFACE.
Three Types of Friction
THE SECOND LAW STATES THAT THE FORCE ON AN OBJECT IS EQUAL TO THE OBJECT'S MASS TIMES IT ACCELERATION:

Newton’s second law
NEWTON'S 3RD LAW STATES THAT FORCES ALWAYS ACT IN EQUAL AND OPPOSITE PAIRS.
WHEN ONE OBJECT EXERTS A FORCE ON A SECOND OBJECT, THE SECOND OBJECT ALSO EXERTS A FORCE ON THE FIRST.
Newton’s third law of motion
1ST LAW: INERTIA LARGE BOULDER, HARD TO START MOVING, HARD TO STOP MOVING
2ND LAW: FORCE APPLIED TO AN OBJECT WILL ACCELERATE THE OBJECT -- SMALL OBJECT ACCELERATES RAPIDLY, LARGE OBJECT ACCELERATES SLOWLY.
3RD LAW: EQUAL AND OPPOSITE REACTIONS ROCKET, SKATEBOARD

MASS IS THE TOTAL AMOUNT OF MATTER IN AN OBJECT. WEIGHT IS THE MEASURE OF THE ATTRACTION OF GRAVITY TO AN OBJECT.
