Berkeley County, West VirginiaLocated in the Eastern Panhandle region of the US, Berkeley is easily accessible from many major cities on the east coast via Interstate 81. The area is buzzing with growing businesses yet holds a small town character. The county holds historical significance with opera houses, train stations and antique shops that date back to civil war era. Mixing culture with the current boom of business the area is very enticing to business investors and the largely growing population. Currently home to more than 119,000 people, the population continues to grow, up 75% from 1990. The area is known for its younger and better educated workforce compared to other counties in the state. In recent years the Martinsburg area has become home to large manufacturing and distribution facilities such as Procter & Gamble (458 acres), Macy’s (1.3 million square foot facility) and GM and have brought thousands of jobs to the region. To match the growing population, large retailers such as Walmart, Target, Food Lion and others have set up locations on Interstate 81.
