The functional system
Leirvik’s raised access floor (RAF) provides vital open space beneath for cabling, ventilation piping and wiring – with few crossbars and secondary structures.
Developed initially for the offshore market, RAF is theoptimal solution for any area that requires a void beneath the floor or flooring with varying elevation, like control rooms, equipment rooms, instrument rooms and cinemas. The system is based on few components that fit into a grid, and the highly adaptable solution can even be used for walls, base frames for equipment etc. In addition to the floor itself, our raised access floor system also includes railings, stairs, vacuum lifters, ventilation plates, floor covers and all relevant accessories.

Since 1985, Leirvik’s aluminium raised access floors have set the standard for the offshore industry in terms of easy and efficient installation, low weight, strength, durability and superior flexibility. Our light-weight aluminium structures ensure substantial weight savings compared to steel-based systems, yet still providing a uniform load capacity of 1500 kg/m2.

With its corrosion resistant components and non-movable parts, our aluminium raised access floor has proved its durability and reliability through decades of service offshore – even with none or minimal maintenance. This robustness ensures low maintenance and lifecycle costs for you as client.
Great flexibility
Due to its design, Leirvik’s highly flexible RAF system is easily adapted to your specific demands. If requirements change over time, the system is just as simple to modify or strengthen. The floor tile design also allows for easy human access to the space beneath the floor.

Why aluminium?
In comparison to other materials, the choice of aluminium and stainless steel ensures the best economical life cycle cost for the customer.
Aluminium has properties unmatched by other materials, such as low weight, strength, corrosion resistance and workability. Together with stainless steel bolts, this gives RAF an optimal material design.

Tailor-made main girders
> Legs can be mounted in any position, fitting the installation
> Prepared for installation of additional legs, enabling heavy duty traffic or load
> Possibility for up to 3 m. between secondary girders
Flexible support legs
> Enable standard floor elevation up to 1200 mm
> Legs for higher elevation can be provided
> Another +/- 50 mm adjustment possible with stainless t-bolts for mounting on girders
Aluminium floor profile tiles
> 600 x 600 mm, providing ample space for easy human access to the space beneath
> Available with a wide range of floor finishes, customisable for specific projects or purposes
> Can be perforated for ventilation requirements

Leirvik’s raised access floor was initially developed for the marine and offshore industries, complying with the NORSOK standard.
Through continuous deliveries to living quarters and topsides on the Norwegian continental shelf since 1985, Leirvik has gained vast experience as supplier of such floors. Our extensive track record includes more than 150 living quarters and topsides, both new builds and upgrades.
