I authorize and grant to the City of Huntington Beach, its representatives, employees, assigns and transferees, the right to use and/or display my artwork as part of a public art project; the right to use and/or publish the same in print and/or electronically; and the right to use and/or display my artwork with or without my name for any lawful purpose, including, for example, such purposes as publicity, illustration, advertising, and internet content as it relates exclusively to promoting, facilitating and/or encouraging public art in Huntington Beach. All fields, including Artist’s Statement are required.

ARTWORK THEME: “20/20...Perfect Vision for a Sustainable Future" Your artwork must reflect the theme of the contest. It should depict what your vision is for an environmentally sustainable future. Whether it be on the land or in the water, your art must address what a sustainable future looks like for the earth.

ARTISTS: must live in or attend school in Huntington Beach, or attend a HBUHSD school; grades 6-12 only.

ARTWORK: should be an original piece, consistent with the theme of this contest and not contain copyrighted characters or logos. Artwork should address the 2020 Contest Theme. Artwork may be computer generated or created in any other medium; finished size must be no greater than 11” x 18” (portrait or landscape), and no more than 11” deep, or tall. If computer generated, a hard copy must be submitted. A limit of one submission per person. Artwork must be submitted between March 18th and March 25th, between 9:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. to City Hall, 3rd floor, Community Development Office to Tess Nguyen. Or pieces can be dropped off during school hours at the front lobby at Edison High School located at 21400 Magnolia Street, Huntington Beach.

CONTESTANT'S STATEMENT: Please use the space provided below to write a statement about how your piece addresses the theme of the contest. No more than 150 words. A typed statement attached to the section below is preferred. Your statement will be part of your display.

DO NOT SIGN your artwork on the front. It must remain anonymous. Please write your name on the back and include this completed and signed form. Artwork can be claimed after the end of the EXPO. Pieces not claimed afterwards have until April 30th to pick it up at City Hall or it becomes the property of the Environmental Board. Pieces will be returned to schools where possible. Winning pieces may be displayed around Huntington Beach throughout the summer and will be returned to the winners after the last show. Please Contact [email protected] with any questions.
