Unexpectedly. Prematurely. Far too little to survive - according to science. Praise God … our Creator is not limited by science! Baby Emilia Grabarczyk was born weighing only 8 ounces, about the weight of a bell pepper. She measured just 8.7 inches long. Her foot was reportedly the size of an adult fingernail. She is the lightest baby ever to survive outside of the womb. Emilia’s parents are quoted as saying there was never a question as to whether or not they would give their child a chance to live, even if the odds of survival were low. This precious baby’s fight for life didn’t begin when she was born, it began in the womb - as is the case for all pre-born babies. Thankfully, her parents chose life in what must have certainly been terrifying circumstances. I wonder if they thought of her as a Christmas miracle on the day she was born? I wonder if today, as their little girl approaches her first birthday without any signs of serious disability, they still ponder this miracle daily? I wonder who she will be, what she will do, what God has in store for this precious life? Most everyone would agree that Emilia, fighting for her life at just 25 weeks as she entered this world, was worthy of every measure of protection and opportunity for survival. Why, then, is there any question as to whether or not her life was worthy of that same protection just seconds before she was delivered? As we enter a new year, with the presidential election behind us (finally!), I am hopeful that 2017 will be the beginning of a cultural shift leading to a renewed understanding and appreciation for the value of all life and a fierce determination to protect the unborn! On behalf of the Board, Staff and Volunteers of WPC, may God bless you and your family in the year to come, and may you have many opportunities to witness His miracles in your own life. Merry Christmas! Do you love to SERVE others? Do you believe LIFE is worth protecting? Will 2017 be the year God calls YOU to volunteer at Women’s Pregnancy Center? On Saturday, November 5th, a crowd of nearly 700 people joined together at Tuscawilla Park in celebration of LIFE ~ and what a wonderful celebration it was! We are so grateful to each of our event sponsors, liaisons, partnering churches and, most of all, our Sponsored Walkers. These individuals/families took the time and effort needed to raise funds that will allow WPC to serve literally thousands of clients in the year to come, empowering them to choose life! We are grateful to be part of a community of LIFE SAVERS!
