Built withelegance and durability in mind, the Vortex8features world-class engineering, combiningdiverse production methods from precision-machined extrusions and high-strength die castingto leading-edge technopolymer components andaerospace-grade sealing technologies. The resultis an IP65-rated water-resistant fixture that haseliminated external power supplies to simplifyrigging and cabling. Crafted to produce a narrowbeam angle and high light output, its punchiness



and colour science enable real-to-lifereproduction of skin tones and colours whilecovering more area with fewer units. Withoutstanding connectivity and extensiveexpandable wireless options, Vortex8 ships withLumenRadio built-in and supports Ethernet,Bluetooth, TimoTwo, 5 Pin DMX, Wifi, USB type-Aand Creamsource Accessory port.

“When you need to light large areas, you mayhave tens to hundreds of fixtures and costs canquickly climb as higher illumination levels or largercoverages are required,” comments CreamsourceCEO, Tama Berkeljon. “In terms of dollars perwatt, the narrow beam angle of the Vortex8 andthe high wattage design is able to cover morearea with fewer units. Its narrow source isconcentrated with a precision lens array nativelyproviding a 20° beam angle. The Vortex8 panel design effortlessly goes frompunchy to soft light, allowing users to bring thefixture closer to the subject without the loss ofspace. Berkeljon explains, “Point sources aregreat but they require more room for diffusion,whereas a panel design like Vortex8 is alreadyspread out so you can get it closer to your subjectand diffuse it right there and still use it in tightspots where other fixtures would have an overlydeep footprint. Conversely, the Vortex8 can beused where more throw is required than atraditional soft source alone could provide, but apanel format is still desirable from a rigging andusability perspective. For instance, where a largerarray needs to be constructed, panels are greatbecause the gaps between the units can be quitesmall, and less diffusion is required to createhomogenous but powerful coverage.”

A versatile 2’x1’ RGBW system with CCT rangingfrom 2200K to 15000K, the Vortex8 can be usedas a hard punch light to bounce or push throughdiffusion, or as a creamy soft light with theCreamsource Dome or DoP Choice Snapbag. Foreven greater lighting design versatility, theVortex8 macro-level controls let users manipulateup to 8 individual zones. Effects and colour gelsare built into the latest CreamOS architecture inaddition to a range of new features wrapped into



a brand new, intuitive user interface. Rigging ofthe Vortex8 is accentuated by the novel eight-point attachment system, allowing a multitude ofsafe and unique rigging configurations. Theabsence of traditional external antennas in favourof an all-new internal design limits loss orbreakage to gaffers and rental houses alike,improving uptime and rental yield.
