GLOBAL VILLAGE

G L O B A L V I L L A G E

The Global Village is a unique internship program

for teaching conversational English, Spanish, Chinese,

German, Russian, Portuguese, Japanese or French to

DKU students. Participants will lead small groups in daily

language classes for three weeks before continuing onto

the Academic Program.

This is a great opportunity to develop friendships with

DKU students and gain insight into Korean culture from

personal experiences. Also through teaching,

you will gain valuable personal insights about yourself !

Important Notice

All GV participants must attend the Academic Program (AP).

If a student decides not to go onto the AP after completion of

the GV, the student will not receive any benefits associated

with GV participation.

Participants will be assigned randomly either at the Jukjeon or

Cheonan campus.

Orientation is mandatory for all participants.

Benefits

Flight reimbursement up to USD1000 (for teaching two sessions)

upon successful completion of the Global Village.

- If the airfare is less than USD1000, the student will receive the

airfare total listed on their receipt.

Internship Certificate of Achievement

Free on-campus accommodation during the GV period

containing materials for class instruction, books to use

in class, a schedule, grading standards, etc.

Application/Selection Process

① Complete online application

② Send addtional application documents to [email protected]

- Letter of Recommendation (from faculty members)

- Personal Essay (500-600 words on your participation in the GV)

③ After an initial screening process of a student's application,

a online interview might be arranged

④ Acceptance results will be announced by March 9, 2018

⑤ Accepted students need to confirm and return the acceptance

offer by March 16, 2018

Qualification

Undergraduate or graduate students fluent in speaking one

or more of the listed languages.•

faculty or faculty from Dankook.

Participants may transfer credits

earned during the four week program.

East Asian Studies, Business, Economics, Social Sciences, IT, Communications, Global Issues, History,

Fashion, Theatre Arts, Tourism, Korean Language, etc.

Optional Cultural Activities & Field Trips

Cultural activities will follow classes every day and field trips are on Fridays.•

Activities

Students can select activities during the application period and pay for the selected

activities at the orientation.

Ceramic art, Calligraphy, Korean traditional music, Korean traditional dance,

making kimchi, Taekwondo, nonverbal musical, DMZ tour, Temple Stay, Mud

Festival, visit to a Korean company Visit, Folk Village, amusement park, etc.

Program Fee : USD2800

Application fee, Student fees, Tuition (2 courses), and Accommodation (USD 500)

* Program Fee for taking only 1 Course: USD1800
