POWER GENERATION THROUGHFOOT STEPS

Page 4: Footstep power generation

> For an alternative method to generate electricity there

are number of methods by which electricity can be

produced.

> Out of such methods, foot step energy generation can be

an effective method to generate electricity.

INTRODUCTION

Page 5: Footstep power generation

NEED OF THE SYSTEMThe utilization of waste energy of foot power with human motion is very important for highly populated countries.

India and China where the roads, railway stations, temples, etc. are all over crowded and millions of people move around the clock.

Page 6: Footstep power generation

BASIC PRINCIPLE When a pedestrian steps on the top plate of the device, the plate will dip down slightly.

The downward movement of the plate results in rotation of the shaft of an electrical alternator fitted in the device.

WORKING

The pushing power is converted into electricityThe piezoelectric material is fixed at the plane. The spring is used to return the inclined step in same position by releasing the load. The shaft of generator is connected to the piezoelectric material. DC is generated.

Page 10: Footstep power generation

To store the electricity in battery.

Easy construction.

Less number of parts required.

Electricity can used for many purposes.

ADVANTAGES

Page 11: Footstep power generation

DISADVANTAGES

Only applicable for the particular place.Initial cost of this arrangement is high.Tiles used are durable but not everlasting.

Page 12: Footstep power generation

In street light.

In LED light for specific purposes.

In air circulation system for room by the small fans.

For used in security alarm.

Also implement in DJ floor.

APPLICATION

Page 13: Footstep power generation

> > We can use this principal in the speed breakers at high ways , where the vehicles rush too much, thus increase input torque and ultimate output of generator.

> > If we use this project at very busy stairs , then we produce efficient useful electrical energy for large purposes .

FUTURE ASPECTS

Page 14: Footstep power generation

Expected Result & Discussion

Output power Let, Mass of pedestrian = 65 kg Distance travelled by plate = 10 cm So, work done on plate by impact = weight of body * distance = 65 * 9.81*0.1 Nm = 63.765 J So, power output =work done/sec =63.765/60 Watts =1.06275 Watts This much power is generated just by one foot step.
