What is ‘Food for Change’?

A part of the Joy of Giving Week, Food for Change is an opportunity for NGOs to invite donors to an evening of music and gourmet food, all the while raising funds for their causes.

At Food for Change 2013, Mumbai’s 10 leading restaurants will showcase their culinary talent and host a special buffet for donors who make a fixed donation to any of the participating NGOs.

Participating NGOs will have the opportunity to network with donors and raise funds.

Past successes: Bangalore 2012

In its inaugural year in Bangalore, 650 people participated, raising Rs. 43 lakh for 30 NGOs.

Music bands Thermal And A Quarter and Lourd Vijay’s dance troupe provided the evening’s entertainment.

Past successes: Chennai 2009 - 2012

‘Cooking for a Cause’ began in Chennai in 2009. Last year, 4000 people participated in the event that raised Rs. 2 crores for 100 NGOs.

Cooking for a Cause, a series of innovative food related fund raising events across the city, includes Food for Change, Celebrity Food Kitchen and Community Kitchen.

The evenings entertainment included live performances by musician Srinivas and several other famous singers.

Food for Change: Mumbai 2013

As a part of the Joy of Giving Week 2013, Mumbai will see it’s first ‘Food for Change’ on Oct xx, 2013 at xxxx location.

A festival of food where Mumbai’s 10 leading restaurants and hotels will showcase their culinary talents and participants will be treated to Mumbai’s best buffet spreads all the while raising funds for the NGOs of their choice.

Participation details & benefits

Participating hotels and restaurants will bring in their teams and display their culinary talent by creating an exquisite buffet for donors who have made a contribution to an NGO of their choice. Each hotel / restaurant will cater for 200 people based on their choice of cuisine
