LO: To illustrate, using food, the effect that our lifestyles have on the planet.
OutcomesAll will be able to use the terms food miles and be able to
explain how it links us to other countriesMost will be able to describe a good and a bad effect of
transporting food around the worldSome will be able to suggest summarise the effects of
importing food and give their own opinion on the subject.
Where do we get our fruit and veg from?
Using the food cards, list the countries we import our food from.Once you have done that use P.102 of the atlas to find and shade/number them.You should find at least 10 countries.

Homework Imagine you have just bought a chicken salad.
Create a poster that shows the effect you eating a chicken salad has on the planet. Consider the different ingredients, where they come from, how they are transported to you, the energy used to cook the chicken etc.
