Laureate International Universities enablesIEDE to participate in a global network that encourages thisinternational nature and creates the feeling among our alumnithat, no matter where they live, one of the group’s centers isnearby. In addition to this, IEDE became the Business Schoolof the Universidad Europea de Madrid (UEM), a fully accredi-ted University, member of Laureate since 1999 and now oneof the most prestigious universities in Spain. UEM providesIEDE with the academic endorsement in its programs. A suc-cessful world economy demands diversity in managementthinking.
As we understand that the capacity for professional develop-ment does not simply consist of gathering a good knowledgebase but also in demonstrating the capacity and ability to act,our programs include a large number of sessions dedicated tohelping our students develop their personal, social and mana-

gerial skills; above all those skills based on communication, which are essential to the activity of any company.
The International MBA Program at IEDE has two different ver-sions both starting in Madrid, where the core courses of theMBA are delivered, followed by the stage in Shanghai wherethe classes are devoted to understanding the growth ofChinese Economy. The third stage of the programme can befollowed in California (University of California, Irvine) or inSantiago de Chile depending on the intake the student chooses.
The whole teaching and managerial staff at the School is keento have people who will potentially help to maintain and rein-force the distinguishing nature of this institution and to contri-bute to reaching our goal. This goal is none other than to equipthe executive class of the twenty-first century with the besttechnical and people skills.
Finally, any student that joins IEDE will see from the selectionprocess that this is a school characterized by one other diffe-rential factor: it is a demanding, but also a cheerful school, onethat bases its teaching method on teamwork. However, itidentifies and deals with individual differences to help eachstudent triumph. We invite you to learn more about IEDE andto experience this by yourself and look forward to welcomingyou to our campuses in Madrid and Shanghai.

Accreditation by the Universidad Europeade MadridAfter joining Laureate International Universities, IEDE has
became the Business School of the Universidad Europea
de Madrid (UEM), one of the most prestigious and
increasingly important private universities of Spain,
member of Laureate since 1999 and recognized by its
international presence.
The educational model of the Universidad Europea de
Madrid is based around integrated and eminently practical
education, with a clear business and professional vocation.
The model fits into the new approach established by the
European Higher Education Area.
The UEM is fully accredited and offers a number of new
and innovative Degree programs, including one Triple
Degree Program, eleven Double Degree Programs,
32 Officially Recognized Degree Programs, Degree
Programs + MBA, and Degree Programs offered through
the Executive modality, all meeting the highest academic
standards.
UEM also delivers more than 60 postgraduate Programs.
Those related to management and business administration
are delivered through IEDE.
The academic quality of the UEM programs are guaranteed
through the accreditation of the services, culture and
professional values which have formed the foundation of
the University since its creation.
IEDE International MBA is a Program endorsed by UEM
and disprestigious University issues a diploma certifying
this endorsment.
IEDE International MBA programs are full time courses of study
divided into three four-month periods that offer a unique learning
and living experience on three continents. It’s an eminently practi-
cal approach in permanent contact with business realities.
The IEDE International MBA program is aimed at graduates
who are looking for an integrated and multinational educa-
tion in management and represents all they can expect: the core
courses of an MBA joined with the knowledge of companies, eco-
nomies and culture of the areas where it is delivered.
If the labor market increasingly demands professionals with a wide
international experience, IEDE International MBA program is a
true experience of living in international communities.
IEDE International MBA is the opportunity not only to acquire tech-
nical knowledge and managerial skills, but also to share the expe-
rience of working in multicultural and international teams, a highly
appreciated skill in the current global labor market.
The Programs include visits to companies and institutions of the
countries where it is delivered. This provides a direct knowledge of
the real economy of international business.
This cross-cultural experience will lead the students to the formu-
lation of business strategies in different cultures and will give them
the platform to identify and explore real business opportunities.
IEDE Business School offers two international options to help
you become the best international manager.
Two International Options
The entire program is delivered in English.

International MBA
Differentiating elements:
- It does not consist of short periods abroad, but rather is delive-
red in three 16-week periods in two campuses of IEDE in
Madrid and Shanghai, and 12-week periods in UCIrvine
campus. Through this total immersion, the students truly learn
about society and culture of the countries where they live nearly
one year.
- The Program includes visits to companies and institutions,
which provides them with direct knowledge of the international
business environment.
- Native Faculty at the three campuses: European, Chinese and
North Americans, as well as visiting professors.
- It is joined by students from all over the world and is fully
taught in English.
- Basic Chinese is taught to all students
- Students are loaned a laptop, which they return at the end of
the MBA.
- Students can also enroll in the Global Operations
Management internship to gain practical experience.
MADRID-SHANGHAI-SANTIAGO DE CHILE
This is the traditional IEDE International MBA that began
in 2000. It is delivered in three periods of 16 weeks at
each of the three IEDE campuses: in Madrid, Shanghai
and Santiago de Chile. This is the only way the students
can truly learn about society, culture and business practi-
ces in the countries where they will live during four
months.
Differentiating elements:
- A global and integrated experience: IEDE is the only
Spanish business school with its own centers in three
major cities of the world (Madrid, Shanghai and Santiago
de Chile).
- Designed, organized, controlled, and appraised
from a central point: the Academic Department of
IEDE Madrid.
- Native Faculty at all of the three campuses: European,
Chinese and Latin Americans.
- Basic Chinese is taught to all students
- Students are loaned a laptop, which they return at the
end of the MBA.
MADRID-SHANGHAI-CALIFORNIA
(University of California, Irvine)
This new version is a full time multicampus program deli-
vered at Madrid and Shanghai (both IEDE campuses)
and completes the program with three months at the
University of California, Irvine.
Our students have the opportunity to study the IEDE
International MBA with a novelty in its program structure:
The presence in USA.
Through an agreement with this North American University,
the program finishes at the University of California campus
at Irvine (UCI), one of the ten campuses of this University
with the largest presence of international students.
Students will attend classes on three different continents with
native faculty of each country, and they will be exposed to a
unique learning and living experience based on diversity.

Academic contents are completed with visits to companies, both
Chinese and international companies having Chinese branches.
Students can choose between completing the IMBA in
Santiago de Chile or California:
Courses in Santiago de Chile
The objective in the course of the MBA in Santiago de Chile is
to discover the key factors for understanding the markets and
particularities of the business in this area of the world. Also,
students will follow additional courses in Finance, Communication,
Operations and Strategy.
Specifically, at the end of this last stage in Santiago, students
will have been provided with a wide knowledge of business and
investment in Latin America. They will understand the role of Latin
America in the international business community and the political
and economic developments in the region. They will analyze the
industrial structure in the most important sectors, will acquire the
bases to identify or explore business opportunities in Latin
America, understand the business culture in Latin America, and
lastly develop alternative approaches to the formulation of global
business strategies on this continent.
Course in Madrid
The program starts in Madrid through four months and 400
hours of class contact. The core courses of this MBA are delivered
in this city, where students acquire a general knowledge of General
Management, Finance, Operations, Marketing and Human
Resources. In the California IMBA version, students will follow the
on line course Project Management Introduction provided by UCI.
Course in Shanghai
During the four months the students are in Shanghai, they
learn about the economy and business in China.
The course in Shanghai shows how material learned needs to be
modified in the light of different cultures and customs within the
Asian region, with special focus on China.
During this period, students acquire a wide knowledge and a real
understanding of business and investment in China and Asia. They
also will learn about specific issues in this particular region: the role
played by the Government in business, how accounting principles
are implemented, the environmental issues and regulations and
the international trade agreements.
“Participating in IEDE´s International MBA has been anenriching voyage of discovery of myself, my interpersonaland teamwork skills, while travelling through and adaptingto three completely different cultures”.

of California, Irvine.
After the students complete their certificate (and for an additional
fee), they can also enroll in the Global Operations Management
internship to gain practical, hands-on experience in the field during
three months.
Courses in Irvine University (California)
The final stage of the USA International MBA version is
delivered at the University of California, Irvine campus.
The University of California, Irvine (UCI) opened in 1965 and
since then, UCI programs, faculty and graduates have achieved
distinction in virtually every discipline.
UCI is a member of the Western Association of Schools and
Colleges (WASC). The campus is fully accredited by the Senior
Commission of WASC. This accreditation requires periodic review
in accord with WASC policies and standards.
IEDE students will join a group of international students and will
follow a set of courses around two main areas: Global
Operations and Project Management. In this course, the stu-
dents will be able to:

The goal of IEDE is to prepare students for the cha-
llenges of leadership. In our School students work with
the case method in order to they learn the skills required
to manage both national and international companies.
The IEDE pedagogical method forces students to try to
resolve problems of a company and put themselves in the
managers position and confront daily decisions.
In each session students achieve their purpose not only
through the theories but also developing the skills and
abilities in real situations.
Teamwork
Teamwork is a main key in the IEDE method under the
guidance of faculty member. In groups, conflicts of different
real companies are analyzed. A study group is a way to
clarify difficult concepts, test ideas and learn new ways of
confronting problems.
Reports and Projects
Three times throughout the MBA, students receive a
case study or fieldwork project that they must carry out
with their work group.
The report requires the analysis of an industrial sector and
an actual company with special emphasis in its cost struc-
ture, ending the study by recommending strategic propo-
sals for the future of the organization. This will give rise to a
document produced by the team, which will be read and
evaluated by the teaching staff before the group pre-
sents it to a panel of professors for a set period of time and
then replies to the questions put forth by the panel.
The final Project is the culmination of all of work done by
the students in the course of the MBA.
In the middle of the MBA, students will start work on
the MBA Final Project, which is a key element for the
assessment of the student’s performance. This project is
the creation of a new company, including its business plan.
The project teams and the projected company definition
will be approved by the IEDE Academic Staff and tutors will
be appointed for every working team.
The final challenge of the MBA, is when students
have to defend it before a panel, who will evaluate it,
putting themselves in the position of a group of investors,
which means that the project not only has to be technically
correct, but it must also come across as realistic and
viable and should create interest in investing in it.
