It is traditional to get married on Saint Anthony’s day as he is the Saint of Love. In Lisbon, every year, there are hundreds of weddings on that day.

Pilgrimages

On the 13th May there is a big pilgrimage to the Sanctuary of Fátima. People walk many kilometres to get there, usually to pay a promise to the Saint.

Bullfights

In Portugal there are some places where you can see bullfights. The most famous ones are: Póvoa de Varzim, Lisbon and Barrancos.It forbidden to kill the bull in the arena.
