    From Principals desk...

Dr Abdul Kalam Kalam passed away on 27th July in

in Rameswaram with full state and military honour. He left behind

a legacy of followers, teachers and youth who believed in his vision for India. "Make India a

We live in a society where we see the values among

people are deteriorating. We have realized that IQ is important, but

there is something that is equally important as the IQ. It is called EQ or

Emotional Quotient. Intelligence quotient helps in academic

achievements, but emotional quotient helps an individual to be a

    complete person and understand others.

Divine child international school has taken an initiative to help our

children to be complete and balanced individuals. Value based steducation was introduced to students on 1 of August 2016. It is for

students from grade 1 to 12. The rst topic that was chosen was

Knowing yourself. This topic was chosen to help students to

introspect themselves better. Through this the aim was to help

students to get to know themselves better. By knowing themselves

better they will be able to understand others better. Discovery their

strength and weakness. It was introduced in each class through

    different activities.

Reported by : Shruti Indoria Grade (10-C)

19 July, 2016 was a great day for every student. It was Guru Poornima. We celebrated it with a special

assembly. At first the students of Hindi literature club gave card and gifts to all the teachers. There was

an Article by Riddhi then a poem by Ganiya of class 6 followed by a skit by 8 standard students. Shaji sir

shared a very nice story with us. The story was about a kite and a boy. Through the story sir related the

kite to each student, the thread to discipline and the boy to teachers and parents. Teachers play an

important role in a student's life an help them fly higher in life.

At last I would like to say that guru gobind dou khade kake lagu paae, balihari guru aapne jin

    gobind deo bataye.

Elections for the students council were held in the last week of the June and counting of votes was done

on 4th July by the committee. The investiture ceremony was held on 7th July wherein the student

    council was formed.

Leaders are the role models who inspire the followers and motivate them to reach the target of

success. Divine Child International School has been always inspired by the vision of its founder that

every child that comes to this temple of learning must be person filled with values, fear of God, respect to

the elders, love and reverence to parents and love for the nation.

Delegation of responsibility and giving authority to children is important as it teaches them lifelong skills

of being powerful and caring at the same time making them best citizen in making. Foreseeing the

welfare of the student's future to train them in leadership skills the school's student's council was

selected after rigorous and democratic process in which the students had to go through many process

    to get selected.

The investiture ceremony was a gracious moment for the gathering to witness the emerging leaders..

This is definitely one of the most awaited events for our school and also a defining moment in student

    leader lives too.

The Students were eager to see the new representatives take the oath. The oath was led by a senior

teacher. The badges were pinned by the Principal, Supervisor, Coordinator and the class teachers to

the student council comprising of Head Boy, Head Girl, Vice Head Boy, Vice Head Girl and the prefects

    of each class.

The Council members were entrusted with various responsibilities.

  • Everybody is talking about the peace in the world,

All we get to see is the pain and the hurt

We don't want a war, we don't want fights,

no guns, no bombs , no fists with a knives.

All I'm saying let's give love a chance,

    Life After War

    Life after War,

    Everything destroyed to its core'

Not even a single ray of light,

As even the Sun is scared to shine bright.

Everywhere there are tears of despair,

About the others, no one has to care

Everyone trying to save their own loved ones,

Under the terror of bombs, grenades and guns.

Everything gets destroyed during the war,

And it isn't easy to forget it all ,

    But if we try.

It can be easy to live a peaceful life even after the war.

    Goodbye To War

    What is war?

    What is it good for?

    It kills many

    Does not leave any

    Just bring a little peace

    Just bring a little love

    Let us bring harmony

    What is it good for?

    Man Against Nature

    Rustling over the dense green

And driving off a day's sheen

    Comes here a dark rain

That might flush all the plain

    The pilots show off impudence

    Cause massive turbulence

    It is cute and chaste

    Pouring flakes and frost

    Knowing not the fated spot

On wings with brooks when they float

Bloom and pollen, leaves and sprout,

Blend in bubbles , sunlight and gloat.

To nature fall is too celebration

To Man even winning is frustration.

  • A cry was heard, long agoSpeaking about what couldn't be seenExpressing unspeakable sorrowTelling everyone of what had been. Once upon a time, in faraway land There lived a king, fair and wise His kingdom was beautiful and grand Everyone would leave awed and mesmerizedOn one fateful day , the king overheardHis two ministers, plotting evil schemesThe King, however didn't say a wordBut he planned on crushing their dreams Soon in the kingdom , a row did start Which then turned into a fight And the Kingdom started to pull apart. Oh, it was indeed a saddening sight. Then there was a warAnd all was lostThe Kingdom became cold and farIt became a distant land that no one ever crossed. The War brought sorrowThe war brought griefThere was no hope for a tomorrowEveryone gave up the belief Remember the fallen heroes Who fought for their life And gave into their foes Who ended their lives with a briefRemember the innocents Who died for naughtThe people who caused the nuisanceCried tears , fresh and hot regretful; Alas! The King thought With tears of repent That this war had been not For this was his ultimate regret.

the same path with the topic Clean and Healthy India . With all the waste materials the innovative

students made great models which could be used even after the competition. Some of the great models

included handbags made of newspaper , snow pieces and dustbins.
