Dear Major Eisner:

APR 18 1944

I have your letter of J>pr11 10, 1944, requesting the assistance of the War Refugee :Board in aiding your family to escape from Hungary.

Your appeal for Ms1Btattce in retou1ng ;your fan11l7 from the Nazis meets with the fullest sympathy of the :Board. I flJll sure you will un<lerstancl, however, that the t11!1k of the Bo~rd is so great that, of necess~ty, it cannot deal with pro bl ems 11mi t ed to 8 eek1ng out and rescuing specific individuals. We shall, of course, do everything in our power to rescue and save the victims of enemy opprees1on who are in imminent clantfer of death.

I eugn;est that you may wieh to refer your problem to a -orivate organization. 'l'here is enclosed a list of some of the organizations which I am advised may be in a position to be of some hel«> to you.
