Reporting on a vessel’sDP capabilities

Trident Marine Services is able to offer a complete turnkey package. Using a team of highly qualified engineers, we initially undertake diagnostic checks to provide a technical review of all onboard marine systems including Dynamic Positioning systems. The review takes the form of a ‘Failure Mode & Effect Analysis’ (“FMEA”).

This study provides both the vessel owner and the charterer with independent assurance of their vessels’ likely performance, given certain scenarios and in a worst case failure situation. This includes the anticipated reaction by the remaining operational thrusters in terms of the resultant force they are capable of generating at the moment of failure.

Trident Marine Services works to National & International class standards and within IMCA recommended guidelines. When undertaking detailed studies our engineers will refer to the latest available ‘Guidance Notes’ in order to ensure that vessels meet the most up-to-date standards.

The FMEA process can also be used to determine the reliability and safety of other onboard systems such as; diving support systems, shuttle-tanker loading & offloading procedures, drilling packages and crane operations.
