Whakatāne District Plan to protect the futurecapacity and use of the Whakatāne airport. a. Buildings used for residential activities
including:
i. Boarding establishments
ii. Homes for elderl persons
iii. Retirement villagesiv. In-house aged-care facilities; and
b. Buildings used as temporary
accommodation in residentially zoned areas
including hotels and motels but excluding
camp grounds.

d. Spaces within buildings used for overnight
patient medical care;
e. Teaching areas and sleeping rooms in
buildings used as educational facilities
including tertiary institutions and schools,
and premises licensed under the Education
(Childhood Services) Regulations, and
playgrounds which are part of such facilities

safet aids, maintenance and servicing facilities, catering facilities,
freight facilities, quarantine and incineration facilities, fuelling
facilities, stormwater facilities, roads, monitoring activities, site
investigation activities, landscaping, ags and signs.
