Brushes:Papillon by the Artist’s ClubGlaze Wash, size ¾” #20102Script Liner, size 6/0 #20138Liner, size 1 #20147; size 2 #20148Shader, size 8 #20129; size 12 #20131

Preparation:Apply the Maple Gel Stain with a brush to the entire tower inside and outside including the draw-ers. I used a ¾” Glaze Wash brush doing one side at a time and wiping it down with a soft cloth before it dried. Let dry. Spatter the entire outside of the tower and the front of the drawers with Burnt Umber. Let dry.With Black Green paint the edges of the sides, the top and bottom edge and the divider between the drawers. Transfer the pattern for the oval on the top and base it in with Black Green. Let dry.Transfer the patterns for the fi sh and the two fl ies.

Painting Instructions:Grey Feather FlyBlack Green – Using your 6/0 Script Liner base in the hookCranberry Wine – Continue with your size 1 Liner and wrap the hook leaving small a space be-tween each wrap.Saffron Yellow- Continue with the 6/0 Script Liner and fi ll in the spaces between the Cranberry Wine.Zinc – Pull in a fi ne line down the center of the grey feather

Grey Sky – Pull in a fi ne line down the center of the grey feather just above the zinc line. Using your 0/6 Script Liner pull out fi ne lines to de-velop the feather from both sides of the middle core.Place a fl oat along the top of the core line. Zinc – Place a fl oat along the bottom of the core lineZinc, Grey Sky – With your liner pull out feath-ers from each side of the grey feather. Continue to add feathers on the end near the curve of the hook and some coming from behind the wrapped part of the hook.Lamp Black – Float a shade along the right side of the wrapped hook. Add the fi shing line at the top of the hookSaffron Yellow – Highlight the center of the yel-low section of the hook

Add a few strokes of wrapping at the top of the feather.Lamp Black – Add the fi shing line at the top

Rainbow TroutLight Buttermilk – Base in the entire fi shHauser Light Green – Float a wide shade along the top of the fi shHauser Dark Green – Place a fl oat over the above fl oat keeping it smallerLight Buttermilk + White (1:1) – Float a highlight along the bottom of the fi shSand – Place a back to back fl oat down the cen-ter of the fi sh. Keeping it wide.Coral Blush + Razzle Berry (4:1) – Place a back

to back fl oat down the center of the fi sh and lightly add the color in the mouthBurlap – Base in all of the fi nsSaffron Yellow – Base in the eyeCocoa – Float a shade at the base of each fi nBurnt Umber – Deepen the above fl oat keeping it smaller. Pull in the lines on the fi nsBlack Green – Add the very fi ne dots on the lines and on the bodyLight Buttermilk – Float a highlight on the end of each fi nLamp Black – Outline the eye and add the center Black Green –Add a very narrow fl oat to establish the gillsGrey Sky – With your #2 liner, add the line around the oval.

Finishing:Finish with several light coats of DecoArt Acrylic Spray Sealer/Finisher – Matte.
