In a 2-centrestudy,672 patientswith episiotomyor other postoperative pain, were treatedwith either fluproquazone 75-200mg,aspirin \ OOOmg or placebo. Both fluproquazone and aspirin were significantly superior to placebo. Fluproquazone hada rapid onset, peak action around 2-3 houis and was still effective at 4 hours. The higher doses (I SO.200mg) tended to be rather more effective than aspirin while 75-\ OOmg tendedto beslightlyless effective. Remedication with analgesic within 4 hours of administration occurred in 57 % on placebo, 17% on aspirin and 14-25% on fluproquazone depending on dose. Aspirin causedtypicalside effects in 17 % of cases, placebo in 3.6 % and fluproquazone in"33 %.
