FlowInstrumentshasbeensuccess-fully producing flow measuringsystems formediasuchasCO2orairgasessince1981,andalso intheareaofpropane/butanesince2001.The latestgenerationof thesuccessfulFlowcomseries incorpo-ratesbothmodernachievementsinmicroprocessor technology,aswellasexpertisefromover25yearsofservicetocustomers.Theoptimum functionality,flexiblemodulardesignandintuitiveopera-

tion testify to the longstandingex-perienceof thedevelopment team.Specialattentionhasbeenpaid touser-friendlyoperationwhendevel-opingthesystem.Thelarge, illumi-nateddisplayenables theconfigu-rationofeachparametertobesetinthedialogwithoutfurthertools.Thecontext-specificeffectafterpressingthefoursoftkeysisshowninthedis-play.Thus, forexample,only func-tionssuchas those for interruptingorcontinuingtheoutfloworcalling

upstatus informationareavailableforaparticulardelivery,whileedit-ing functionsareprovided for thesystemconfiguration.Thankstothisdesign, thechanceofapplicationerrorshasbeenminimized,whileofferingmulti-functionalitywithoutirritatingtheuserbytoomanyoper-atingelements.

FLOWCOM 2000More than 6500 systems of theFlowcomseriesare inuse through-out theworld, their componentshavingproven their reliabilityovermanyyearswhileofferinginexpen-siveupgradeoptions.

The gas bubble sensor (see Fig. 1) has the taskofmonitoring thefluidflowinregardtothegasbub-ble contentduring the liquidgasoutflowandstoppingtheoutflowifgasbubblesoccur.Theflowmeasuringsection(see Fig. 2)formsthecoreofthesystem.Thisworksaccordingtotheprincipleofdifferentialpressuremeasurement,i.e. theflowrate iscalculatedviathepressuredropatanorifice re-strictor in the line.Themeasuringsectiondoesnothaveanymovingpartsandisthereforemaintenancefree.Itcanbeinstalledinthepipesystembyweldingitin,usingflang-esorwithbrassscrewconnections.In order to achieve the highac-curacy and calibration capacityoftheFlowcom2000systems,thedensityofthemediummustalsobeincludedin theflowmeasurement.Tocalculatethedensity,atempera-turesensor (see Fig. 3) is installedjustbefore themeasuringsection.The temperaturesensorused, typePT100,isaplatinumelementwork-
