Synchronization GPS used as the source for frequency and time synchronization

System Module contains an oven controlled oscillator (OCXO), which provides a

highly stable clock even if the GPS receiver fails or GPS is temporarily unavailable The GPS antenna with integrated receiver has to be installed outside for satellite

visibility and is connected directly to the Synchronization Input of the System Module

DC power for the receiver is supplied through the combined power/data cable

Timing over Packet (ToP) is a feature candidate for Release 2

Flexi WiMAX BTS Operating SWIncludes one activated Ethernet interface

RF capacity upgrade licenses (Application SW)3Mbit/s, 6Mbit/s, 9Mbit/s, 15Mbit/s upgrade steps

Aggregated User Plane throughput capacity in BTS System Module

Total capacity is cumulative, e.g. 18Mbps can be composed of two 9Mbps licenses

Transmission licenses (Application SW)Additional 10/100 Ethernet (FTM) Interface license

    Other Application SW:BTS V-interface license

Enables DSL operators to connect WiMAX BTSes directly to BRAS (Broadband Remote

Access Server) via V interface protocol

H-ARQ (Hybrid Automatic Repeat Request) licenseSignificant coverage/throughput gain due to fast re-transmission of packets and due to

combining of the information from earlier transmissions of the same packets.

Subscription based Rate limiting (UL in BTS, DL in ASN GW)Enables operator to limit peak data rate on a per subscriber basis. QoS parameters are

received as a part of user profile during authentication phase.

Element Manager for local or remote

control PC based element manager, Flexi WiMAX BTS Site Manager, is used for local and

    remote management of the BTS

Flexi WiMAX BTS Site Manager can be connected:

Locally to the Ethernet port of BTS

Remotely from the O&M Server (OMS) or NetAct

O&M traffic is carried within the BTS backhaul link via Nokia BTSOM protocol

Main functions of Flexi WiMAX BTS Site Manager:

    BTS commissioning

BTS supervision (alarms, block/unblock) BTS maintenance with SW download

    BTS testing

Autoconnection makes commissioning and integrating fast and easy

Properly installed, but non-configured BTS can be accessed by Flexi BTS Site Manager remotely

    Less work required on site

File based commissioning is also supported Site Configuration File (SCF) from NetAct Planner can be loaded into the BTS with Flexi WiMAX BTS Site
