MUSIC WITH A VIEW 2013APPLICATION
GENERAL INFORMATION
We invite artists working in the field of music to have their work seen and heard inMusic with a View 2013, running June 17-20, 2013! The festival is devoted tothe discovery of new, fresh sound created and performed by contemporarymusicians. Each event features the works of 2-3 emerging and/or mid-careercomposers and is followed by an open discussion between the artists and the
audience.
The series takes place at The Flea, a beautiful, clean and temperatureregulated performance space located in TriBeCa. The Flea has an excellent Yamaha7’ grand piano that is also a DCV Disklavier with midi receive and midi out function,a house sound system with a digital mixing board, a digital light board, a videoprojector and 6 ft. screen, microphones, DI boxes, cables, music stands and otherbasic technical items. Each piece will be given ample tech and rehearsal time with The Flea’s technical director and staff.
Finally, we provide a space, a structured forum, an audience, and desirable
production values to the artists. The experience of being part of Music With AView has been overwhelmingly positive to all involved. At this time, however, thefestival DOES NOT PROVIDE PAYMENT OR FEES OF ANY KIND, nor are we able tocover travel expenses & accommodations.
DUE DATE: Completed application must be received no later than October 31 atmidnight. Only one (1) proposal per composer will be accepted.
