I am an old horse-head fiddle player Batnasan TUVDEN, who learnt this instrument from my

childhood. I often invited to the various rituals, such as a social practices, festive events and the coaxing rituals for baby camel to accompany by my horse-head fiddle. My wife is also inherited

camel herder. She is excellent on coaxing songs. We all inherited this cultural heritage element from our ancestors.

Nowadays, the camel diminish in number and stop using them for burden and riding.

inscribe disappearing ancient tradition and ritual the "Coaxing ritual for baby camel" to List of

Intangible Cultural Heritage in Need of Urgent Safeguarding. UNESCO. We inhe1ited coaxing

songs from our grandmother Daanyam and we give our consent to pm1icipate in all activities for

The Mandal-Ovoo became second soum by number of camel in 2013. There are 360 households

with 1616 7 camels.

The soUJn' s herders have rich experience of herding camels. because of natural environment of

the local area. Some of herders inherited the ancient tradition to coax a young mother-animal,

who gave first bi1th to the calf and reject him or an exhausted mother-animaL who rejects her

calf or adopt an orphan calf to another mother cameL who lost her ea) f after blizzard or cold dry

winter.

Due to the techniques and technologies use of traditional herding technologies is decreasing from

year to year. For example. the good tradition to survive a orphan calf in harsh spring season. the

"Coaxing ritual for baby camel" is nearly extinct of disappearing.

I appeal to suppmt the initiative of Daanyam 's family to inscribe the "Coaxing ritual for baby

Ulaanbaatar and took lessons at professor G. Jamiyan I State Honored A1tist of Mongolia, State

Award, Man of XX century/. A few years after graduation of the College I have a fulfilling a

successful career as a musician of the Folk Dance and Music Theater. Last 20 years I' ve been

Bayan bag, Khanbogd soum-Umnugovi province.

I'm herding camels for 26 years. and have 586 camels. In 2013 breeded 75 nherding camels. a

Galba, red ugshlyn camel herd is raised. 586 camels. In 2013 we are rear 75 young baby camels.

There are 6 families in our lineage and all of them are herding camels and praticising coaxing

ritual for baby camel. Our great grandmother Tserendej id were an excellent long-song singer and

a good coaxer.
