FLAVIUM 2020

SVKM’s NMIMS School of Pharmacy and Technology Management, Shirpur campus organized

annual sports event “FLAVIUM – 2020”, from 13th January to 20th January 2020 at Mukesh

Patel Technology Park, Shirpur Campus. All the students of D. pharmacy, B. Pharmacy, M.

Pharmacy and MBA Tech. B. Pharmacy & M. Pharmacy actively participated in the customized

and fun-filled track and field events.

The Inaugural program began with the welcome ceremony of the Chief guests, Hon. Dr. R. S.

Gaud, Director MPTP Shirpur, Dr. Ashwini Deshpande, Asso. Dean SPTM Shirpur, Mr. Rahul

Dande, Chief Accountant & Administrator MPTP Shirpur, Mr. Rajiv Dalal, Deputy Registrar.

The chief guest was felicitated. All the teaching and non-teaching staff from SPTM Shirpur were

also present for the ceremony.

The student represented national level sports with shear confidence in their practice. The advent

was commemorated with SPORT MASHAL which is a symbol of healthy sportsmanship spirit;

was lighted and took around ground. After that the inauguration ceremony was addressed by

Hon. Director Dr. R. S. Gaud Sir with his sporty and enthusiastic words and declared that the

annual sport event “FLAVIUM – 2020”, has been inaugurated.

TUG OF WAR

A sport that pits two teams against each other by a rope. Where, the rope is to be pulled towards

the respective team's end. It is a game of strength and strategy.

Following are the winners of the TUG OF WAR.

Girls

1st Position: 3A

2nd Position: 3B

There was a huge participation of audience and whole heartedly cheered athletes.

ATHLETICS:

The event was conducted on 19th January 2020. The event included games like 100m sprint, shot

put for boys and 100m discus throw for girls. Number of students participated whole heartedly.

A top athlete’s beauty is next to impossible to describe directly and their enthusiasm towards

their game done had done it all. The spectators were not behind in supporting and encouraging

the participants of their respective classes. Following are the name of winners.

It was successful event which was conducted under the guidance of sports in charge and faculty

member.

BADMINTON:

Technically a racquet sport where the shuttle cock has to be passed across the net. However, it

requires great stamina and practice to carry out game manoeuvers and hit those smashes!

This event was conducted on 19th January 27, 2020. The event started at 6 A.M and ended at 1

P.M.

There was a huge participant. The event was conducted at the RC Patel, SPTM Shirpur. In the

initial rounds matches of 7 points were conducted with 1 set only. For the quarterfinal matches of

15 points were conducted with the 1 set. For semifinal and final 1 set of 21 points was

conducted. There was a huge participation of audience and whole heartedly cheered athletes.

The event was carried out successfully and cheerfully.

BASKETBALL EVENT:

A team sport played in coordination to shoot hoops in the opposite teams' basket while defending

their own.

This event was conducted from 14th January 2020. The event was conducted on the basketball

court near boy’s hostel in presence of the coordinators and faculty members.

In Basketball boys there was participation of 6 teams in which there were 6 boys (1-extra) in

each team playing. A game constitutes of 4 quarters each of 10 min. The fixtures were been

made in agreement with all the teams and accordingly the game was proceeded in the given slot.

Girls: Winner: 2A

Runner up: 1A

Boys: Winner: 2A

Runner up: 3B

FOOTBALL:

A sport globally loved and played, where the players run across the field kicking the ball high

and far across field while shielding themselves into scoring a penalty!

SPTM Shirpur, Football girls and boys event was conducted at the college cricket ground. The

event started at 7:00 pm and ended at 9:00 pm. In the initial matches, 5 and 20 minutes of each

half for girls and boys team respectively were conducted. For the finals, the match was

conducted for 7 minutes and 20 minutes each half. As the rounds progressed, the competition

started to become strong and all the games were interesting. The play-offs were conducted in the

evening and the finals of girls were conducted between Team A -1styear and was played against

Team diploma and for boys the final is between Team A 2nd year and was played against Team A

-1st year. The match was viewed and cheered by a large audience. All the athletes played with

team spirit and showed sportsmanship.

CRICKET

The most loved game of our country! Be it field cricket or gully cricket, season ball or tennis

ball, this sport is played and enjoyed by people of all ages. So did we.

The main cricket event was conducted on 19th January 2020 at the cricket ground since morning.

It was conducted with great sportsman spirit. There were total 8 teams who participated in this

successful event. The teams were graced by the presence of a huge number of spectators who

encouraged their supporting teams. The team participated whole heartedly and played with full

potential and respected the game. The game was played under knockout basis. After a tough

competition, the finals were played between faculty captained by Ketan Hatware sir and 2nd year

diploma. Both the teams showed a fantastic game and played with their full potential. After a nail

biting performance by both the teams, faculty team came out with flying colors.

VOLLEYBALL

A game we all imagine ourselves playing by the beach. However, it was enjoyed on the campus

ground as well with great enthusiasm and zeal. The campus was resonated in cheers during the

matches.

Volleyball event was conducted at Volleyball court, SPTM Shirpur.. The event started at 5 P.M

and ended at 9.30 pm. There were five teams which took part in this event.

Girls: winner – 2A

Runner up – 3A

Boys: winner – 2A

Runner up – 3A

THROWBALL

The game we all played in school in recess, as sport or just for fun. The matches were definitely

nail biting!

Throwball event was conducted at the volleyball court, SPTM Shirpur Campus. There was huge

participation of the audience with lots of cheering. The final was conducted between II-year

Team B and III-year team A. The winner of the event was II year Team B.

In all, the event was successfully completed.

CARROM

An indoor game every family plays during summer while sipping orange juice.

The event was conducted for 4 days from 13th January to 19th January 2020 in respective hostels

and the event started at 10:30pm and ended at 12:00am. There was a huge participation and the

number of participants took part in this event. Due to the huge participation one round was

conducted. The final round was conducted on the 19th January 2020. All the players played very

enthusiastically.

CHESS

The game which was invented in India. A game which gives your brain a good exercise.

This event was conducted on 13th January 2020 at the respective hostels at 10:30 pm. There was

a tough competition and the game was fairly conducted by abiding the rules. A chess clock was

provided and each game was conducted for 5minutes. The winners of this game were as follows:

Girls:

Boys

1st – Deepak Vidhani

2nd- Kaivan Shah

Flavium 2020 concluded on a healthy note. Winners were applauded loud and high by all the

participants. It was truly an event that recognized talent and encouraged sportsmanship spirit to

sore high amongst everyone.
