Single Layer

1. Shape Change

1. Frame 1 > Draw a circle at the top left corner.2. Frame 20 > F6 > Delete the circle > Draw a square in the center of the stage.

3. Frame 40 > F6 > Delete the square > Draw a circle.4. Create shape tweens.

2. Rotating and Dropping Characters

Create the word

1. Layer 1 > Insert the first character at the top left corner of the stage > Select it > Ctrl C.

2. For each subsequent character > Ctrl Shif V > Place the character besides the previous character > Changeit to required character.

Animating the characters

3. Frames 2 4 > F6 > Place the last character at different positions (diagonally downwards) > At each position, also change the rotation of the character.

4. Frame 5 > F6 > Place the last character at the right lower corner in a straight position.5. Same frame (1.e., frame 5) > Place the second last character slightly diagonally downwards and rotate it.

6. Afer every 3 4 frames, repeat steps 3 5 for the remaining characters.

7. Change fps to 15.

3. Drawing a Sun

1. Select the circle tool > Keep the shift key pressed > Draw a circle (Fill color Orange, No line color).

2. At the top of the circle, using the line tool (Color Orange), draw a triangle and fill it with orange color.

3. Select the whole triangle > Modify > Group > Modify > Transform > Rotate > Ctrl C.

4. Ctrl Shift V > Keep the shift key pressed > Click and drag the top left corner of the selection to the left (To rotate at 40).

5. Repeat step 4 till the entire circle is filled with triangles. 6. Ctrl A > Modify > Ungroup > Window > Panels > Fill> Radial Gradient > Create a suitable gradient.4. Outlining Text

1. Insert a word > Select it > Ctrl B.

2. Select the ink bottle tool > Select a desired stroke color > Click on the edges of each character.

5. Motion Kern

1. Insert some text > Center it on the stage.

2. Frame 20 > F6 > Ctrl B.3. Frame 1 > Alt Ctrl Shif (Keep these keys pressed) > Using the right arrow key, widen text > Center it on stage.

4. Frame 1 > Change the color of the text to a very light shade > Ctrl B.

5. Create shape tween.

6. Zooming Text

1. Insert a word at the top edge of the stage > Place it in the center.

2. Frame 20 > F6 > Place the word in the center of the stage > Increase the size using the scale option. 3. Frame 40 > F6 > Place the word at the bottom edge of the stage > Place it in the center > Decrease the size using the scale option.

4. Create motion tweens.

7. Morphing Text (Changing from one word to another)

1. Frame 1 > Insert a word.

2. Create as many keyframes as the total no. of words.

3. At each keyframe > Change the word to something else > Select it > Ctrl B. 4. Frame 1 > Select the word > Ctrl B.

5. Create shape tweens (Right click on the frames > Panels > Frames > Shape).

Symbols

8. Fish

1. Window > Common Libraries > Movie Clips > Supporting Graphics Files > Right Click > Expand Folder > Drag and drop Fish Animated Graphic.

2. At regular intervals > F6 > Create motion tweens (The animation effects are preapplied).

9. Water Ripples

1. Change the background color to blue.

2. Color Window > Fill > Radial Gradient > Create 5 gradient ranges at equal distances > First, middle and last > Same color as the background color > Remaining two > Apply a lighter shade of blue.

3. Keep the shif key pressed and draw a circle (no line color) > Select it > F8 > OK > Scale > Increase the width such that the circle flattens (oval) > Center it across the stage.

4. Frame 20 > F6.

5. Frame 1 > Scale > Resize the oval to a very small size > Place it in the center of the stage.

6. Create motion tween > Play to see the effect.

7. Frame 20 > Effect > Alpha > 0% > Play to see the effect.

10. Sequence of Images

1. Frame 1 > File > Import > First image from the sequence > Scale (Cover the entire stage) > F8 > OK > Effect > Alpha > 100%. 2. Frame 3 > F6 > Effect > Alpha > 75%. 3. Frame 5 > F6 > Effect > Alpha > 50%. 4. Frame 7 > F6 > Effect > Alpha > 25%. 5. Frame 9 > F6 > Effect > Alpha > 0%.

6. File > Import > Second image from the sequence > Scale (Cover the entire stage) > F8 > OK > Effect > Alpha > 100%.

7. Delete the first image (Move the second one aside > Select the first one > Delete > Position the second image such that it covers the entire stage).

8. Repeat steps 2 7 till all the images from the sequence are over.

9. Do not delete the last image from the sequence.

10. Change fps to 1.

11. Fading Text

1. Insert text > Center it on the stage > F8 > Graphic > OK. 2. Frame 10 > F6.

3. Frame 1 > Effect > Alpha > 0%.

Note: For fade in change effect at frame 1

For fade out change effect at frame 10.

4. Create motion tween.

12. Zoom and Color Text

1. Insert a word at the top edge of the stage > Place it in the center > Select it > F8 > Graphic > OK.2. Create keyframes at regular intervals as required.3. At each keyframe, change the size (using the scale option) and effect (Window > Panels > Effect > Tint > Change the color).

4. Create motion tweens.

13. Zoom and Fade Text

1. Insert a word > Place it in the center of the stage > F8 > Graphic > OK.

2. Frame 30 > F6 > Scale > Increase the size such that it goes off the stage (not the entire word) > Effect > Alpha > 0%.

3. Create motion tween.

14. Beating Heart

1. Change the background color to black.

2. Import heart image..

3. Frame F10 ->F6 ->Decrease the size of the image.4. Create Motion Tween.

Multiple Layers

15. Tossing characters with a ball

Create the word

1. Layer 1 > Insert the first character > Select it > Ctrl C.

2. Add as many layers as the total no. of characters (i.e., one layer for each character).

3. In each layer > Ctrl Shif V > Place the character besides the previous character > Change it to required character.

Note: For e.g., for the word HELLO, you will require 5 layers.

4. Adjust the position of the characters such that it appears to be in the center of the stage.

5. In all the layers, select the frame (total no. of characters * 10) {Click on the frame in the first layer and drag up to the last layer} > F6 > Place all the characters at the top edge (in the center) of the stage.

Note: For e.g., if you have 8 characters > F6 at frame 80.

Create the ball for tossing the characters

6. Insert layer > Rename it as 'Ball'.

7. Using the circle tool, insert a ball of a small size at the leftt lower corner > Select it > Ctrl G.

8. Insert keyframes at intervals of 5 frames till the last frame of the character layers.

9. Frame 5 > Place the ball exactly below the first character.

10. Frame 10 > Place the ball touching the bottom of the stage between first and second characters.

11. Repeat steps 8 & 9 till all characters are over.

12. At the last keyframe, place the ball at the lower right corner.

13. Create motion tweens between the keyframes.

Character Layers

1. At each layer, insert keyframe at the frame wherever the ball touches the character. (For e.g., Layer 1 > Frame 5, Layer 2 > Frame 15 > and so on).

2. Create motion tweens from the keyframe to the last keyframe. (For e.g., Layer 1 > frame 5 last frame, Layer 2 > frame 15 last frame > and so on).

3. Change fps to 8 (For slower movement).

16. Seesaw

Layer 1

1. Using the line tool, draw a triangle and fill some color in it > Select it > Ctrl G. 2. F8 > Graphic > OK.

3. At frame 40 > F6.

Layer 24. Using the rectangle tool, draw a thick line > Select it > Ctrl G. 5. F8 > Graphic > OK.

6. Insert keyframes at the following framesFrame Position of the line

1 Rotate Left side down

10 Do not change

20 Rotate Right side down

30 Do not change

40 Do not change

7. Create motion tweens between the keyframes. (Right click on the frame > Create motion tween).

Layer 3 & Layer 4 (One layer for each object)

8. File > Import > any picture (e.g. Babies) > Select it > Ctrl B.

9. Place required part of the picture above the rectangle and remaining part below it > Select the two parts > Ctrl G.

Note: If you do not have such a picture, you can either draw it or use balls (using circle tool) instead.

10. F8 > Graphic > OK.

11. Insert keyframes at 10, 20, 30, 40 > Adjust the position of the objects according to the rectangle. 12. Create motion tweens between the keyframes.

17. Broken Heart

Layer 1

1. Using the pencil tool, draw a heart and fill it with a color > Place it at the top left corner of the stage.

2. Frames 5, 6, 7 > F6 > Do not change the position of the heart.

3. Frame 10 > F6 > Draw a line through the heart > Separate the two parts > Delete the line > Change the position of the two pieces (place them diagonally downwards).

4. Frame 15 > Divide the heart into more pieces (using the line tool) > Move the pieces diagonally downwards > Delete the lines used for making pieces.

5. Frame 20 > F6 > Move the pieces to the right lower corner > Insert text 'Broken Heart' at the top edge (center) of the stage. 6. Frame 25 and 30 > F6 > Do not make any changes. 7. Do not create any tweens.

Layer 2

8. Using the line tool, draw an arrow at the left lower corner > Select it > Ctrl G. 9. Frame 5 > F6 > Place the arrow in the center of the heart

10. Create motion tween.

11. Change fps to 5.

18. Repelling Balls

1. Draw a ball in 2 different layers with different colors > Select each ball> Ctrl G.

2. You can create your own gradient effects > Window > Panels > Fill.

3. In both the layers, at regular intervals (for e.g., frames 5, 10, 15...) > F6 > Change positions of both the balls.

4. At a particular keyframe, place the balls such that they touch each other in the center of the stage.

5. Next keyframe, place them far apart.

6. Create motion tweens between the keyframes.

7. Change fps to 10.

19. Blurring Text

Layer 1

1. Frame 1 > Insert some text > Center it on the stage.

2. Frame 20 > F5 (Not F6) > Select the text > Ctrl C.

Layer 2

3. Frame 10 > F6 > Ctrl Shif V > F8 > OK.

4. Frame 20 > F6 > Scale > Increase the width only > Effect > Alpha > 0%. 5. Create motion tween.
