    A player may play on ONLY one single sexteam, and on ONLY one Corec team

    ALL players must register an account withwww.imleagues.com

    Registration is not complete until they click on the activation linkin the email they receive

    This will remain your account to use for the rest of the sports When registering, tell you players to use their @creighton.edu

    If the player is not a full-time student, they will need torequest permission to join the Creighton group.

    Rostering Rule

    Players may be added to the team roster at anypoint during the regular season or playoffs. Only new players, those who have not played for nor joined a

    team during that leagues season, may be added to teamsduring the playoffs.

    If a player wishes to change teams, s/he must contact the IntramuralSports Office and ask for permission. Players may not change teams ontheir own.

    Players are only permitted to change teams during the regular season.

    Players will not be able to change teams more than once.

    Defaults

    If you know that your team will not be able to play your gamethat day, email ([email protected]) or call the intramuraloffice at 280-2987 no later than 3:00 pm that day.

    Defaults do not count as a forfeit.

    Weather / Regular Season

    We only cancel in the event of lightning or severeweather. We will play in the rain and snow!

    In case of inclement weather: You will also receive a

    text/email from IM Leagues

    Games will be cancelled per hour. Ex. Thunderstorm at 5:45 will mean that the 6:00 games are

    cancelled. The rest of the games may still be played.

    Playoffs

    All teams must be prepared to play playoff games ondays and times that are different from their regularseason schedule

    Playoff games will be scheduled SunThu 6pmmid

    Carry extra players on your roster!

    If you know of a schedule conflict you need to contactJason Gant (280-2987) PRIOR to the posting of the

    playoffs.

    Once posted, playoff games will not be rescheduledunless there is bad weather

    Enter the complex through the west gateand walk down the stairs to check in

    Drugs, alcohol and tobacco are all strictlyprohibited from intramural playing sites

    Teams will be held accountable for theactions of both its players and fans

    Game Equipment The Ball

    Teams may provide their own ball.

    The offense is responsible for the ball.

    Mens teams must use a regular size ball.

    Womens and Corec teams may use:

    Regular;

    Intermediate;

    Youth; or Junior size ball

    Equipment Illegal

    Jerseys which have an armopening of more than 4 belowthe arm pit

    Pants or shorts with belts orbelt loops, pockets or exposed

    braces covered illegally. Any slippery of foreign

    substance on any equipment orexposed part of the body.

    Exposed metal on clothes orperson. Towels attached at a players

    waist. Flags that can be detached

    from the flag belt.

    Coin Toss

    3 minutes before gametime.

    The winning captain may

    choose to defer his/heroption to the 2nd half.

    The team with the 1st halfoption may choose: Offense or Defense; or

    Which goal to defend.

    The other team has theremaining option.

    Forfeits

    At game time, if only one team is present withenough players to legally begin the game, theyhave the following options:

    Take a win by forfeit Give the opposing team up to 10 minutes to field a

    legal team.

    Note: If the 10 minute grace period is granted, the

    game clock shall be started at game time and the firsthalf shall be shortened by up to 10 minutes.

    After 10 minutes, the game shall be forfeited.

    Only supervisors can officially forfeit the game.

    Timing

    The game consists of two 20-minute halves.

    Halftime shall be 3 minutes.

    Each team receives two timeouts per game.

    Running Clock

    The clock will run continuously for theentire first half unless a timeout is called.

    Clock will run continuously for the first 18minutes of the second half

    Two minute warning

    After the 2 minute warning, the back judgewill announce the remaining time and statusof the clock after each play

    Snapping the Ball

    The only player required to be on the LOS is the snapper

    The snap must be a shotgun snap at least 2 yards backfrom the LOS

    Must be a quick and continuous motion

    25 second play clock

    Encroachment: Breaking the plane of the defensive puck Dead Ball Foul The play is blown dead immediately

    Screen Blocking

    Legally obstructing an opponent withoutcontacting him/her with any part of the screenblockers body

    Compared to setting a screen in basketball

    Neither offensive nor defensive players may use

    their hands when rushing or blocking Pushing, holding, tripping, charging, swim

    moves, etc. are all ILLEGAL

    Passing / Catching

    Only one forward pass per down. Passmust come from behind the LOS

    ALL receivers are eligible to pass/catch

    Possession + One foot inbounds = Catch

    Pass Interference may occur with orwithout contact (Faceguarding)

    Running / Flagbelts

    Belts may not be tied or tampered with in anyway (penalty = ejection)

    Runners may not use their arms to prevent adefender from removing the belt Stiff Arms are ILLEGAL

    Natural running motion = flag guarding

    Flag Guarding = 10 yard penalty

    No fumbles. Stripping the ball is ILLEGAL. Illegal contact / defensive holding = 10 yard penalty

    Punting

    On fourth down, the referee will ask if the team wants tokick or go for it

    Teams decision to kick cannot change unless a TO iscalled or a penalty occurs

    There are no fake punts or quick kicks!

    The offense and defense cannot cross the LOS until theball is kicked

    There are no fair catches

    An untouched punt that crosses Rs goal line is atouchback and may not be run out

    Scoring

    Mens / Womens touchdown = 6 points Try Attempts:

    One point 3 yard line Two points 10 yard line Three points 20 yard line

    The Referee shall ask the captain where the trywill be played from This option cannot be changed unless a timeout is

    called by either team

    If the defense intercepts the ball on the try, the

    play is dead

    M/W: 40 points at any point of the 2nd half

    C: 45 points at any point of the 2nd half

    M/W: 19 points at, or following the 2minute warning

    Co-Rec Football

    The game is played with teams of six players (4men + 4 women)

    Six players are required to start a game 2 of each sex is required to start

    Teams may play 4/2, 3/3, 4/3, 4/4

    Teams may not play 5/3

    Teams may play with any size ball they choose

    Male Restrictions

    A male runner cannot advance the ballthrough Team As scrimmage line

    There are no restrictions:

    During a run by a male runner once the ballhas been touched by any player beyond Team

    Open and Closed Plays

    Open Play: any offensive player may pass orcatch the ball

    Closed Play: must involve a female passer or a

    female receiver for positive yardsAll possessions begin with an open play

    There may not be two consecutive legal forwardpass completions from a male to another male -This rule also applies to the Try

    Penalty: Illegal Forward Pass, 5 yards from spot, LOD

    Open and Closed Plays

    If the officials erroneously indicate theopen/closed status of a down, the play isnullified and the down is repeated

    Any foul, whether accepted or declined, shallhave no effect on whether the next down isopen or closed

    A legal forward pass caught jointly by male andfemale teammates is considered a femalereception

    Male scores a TD = 6 points

    Female scores a TD = 9 points Female QB to male WR = 9 points

    Mercy Rule = 45 points anytime duringthe second half, 25+ points at two mins.

    Sportsmanship Ratings

    Acceptable In general, participants display proper

    sportsmanship towards opponents, IM officials

    and IM supervisors. The captain displaysreasonable control over team and spectators.

    Sportsmanship Ratings

    Unacceptable Constant and blatant disrespect of intramural staff or

    opposing team.

    Captain has little or no control over team.

    A game ended due to 3 unsportsmanlike conducts.

    Penalty: Team Captain must meet with JasonGant prior to the next game to be reinstated. 2 Unacceptable Ratings = Team dropped from league

    Fight = Auto expulsion from league and referral toCenter for Student Integrity

    Officials Disclaimer

    All officials are Creighton students. They areNOT professionals and should NOT be treated assuch Even if they were, the best still make mistakes

    With amateur and inexperienced studentofficials, there WILL be inconsistencies and

    discrepancies with their calls / no calls Similarly, there WILL be tons of overthrown balls,dropped passes, missed flag pulls and penalties byplayers and teams

    Protests

    Judgment calls CANNOT be protested Pass Interference, Holding, Incomplete, etc

    Only rules interpretations can be protested Ex. Pass interference being placed at the spot

    of the foul.

    Protests must be made to the supervisorprior to the next snap

    Unacceptable Conduct

    Zero Tolerance Policy

    Derogatory, Insulting and Inappropriate comments orbehavior towards the student staff (officials /supervisors) or towards the opposing team will not betolerated on any level

    Two Unsportsmanlikes on one player = Ejection

    Three UCs on one team = Team disqualified andgame is forfeited

    Ejections

    All ejected participants are suspendedindefinitely and must make an appointment withJason Gant (280-2987) to be reinstated

    Ejected players / teams may also be referred toStudent Integrity in extreme cases of unsportsmanlikeactions

    Ejected players / teams face probable suspensionsand potential expulsion from the league

    The meeting must take place prior to the next gameor will be referred to Student Integrity
