RE: $6,946.40 is an unreasonable charge for public records. Art. I, Sec. 24, Fla. Const.Duty of the Secretary of State, Florida Statutes, Chapter 15, § 15.01 et. seq.

Dear Secretary Detzner:

It appears the DOS did not understand my request of November 25, 2015. At the bottom of pageone I wrote “Provide public records for the following if you have the records:” If the DOS doesnot have the records, I did not request the records. Enclosed is a “Revised record request”.

The response January 11, 2016 by the DOS is enclosed, with invoice for $6,946.40, and states:

Please find enclosed a final invoice for the estimated cost of producing your public recordsrequest. Upon payment of the invoice amount, we will proceed with providing you copiesof the requested records. Please make your check or money order payable to the FloridaDepartment of State and send it to Florida Department of State, Office of the GeneralCounsel, R.A. Gray Building, 500 South Bronough Street, Tallahassee, FL 32399.

The accompanying invoice demands $6,946.40 but is not sufficiently itemized:
