Reason for VisitThe #1 reason all groups gave for visiting the
center is the pool. Public Meeting respondents are almost as likely to use
interior space (fitness & weights) as they are the pool. They are also more likely to visit for anypurpose than online respondents. • Online Respondents:
• Over half (58.8%) will visit primarily for the pool.
• About 30% will visit for fitness classes &/or
weight room.
• Under 12% will not visit the center.
• Public Meeting respondents:• Half (50.0%) will visit primarily for the pool.• Approximately 45% will visit for fitness classes
&/or weight room.• Only 5% will not visit the center.

When asked about the interior design, both groups think it is generally on the right track.
Public meeting respondents were more critical of the layout than online respondents.
All groups offered written comments suggesting restroom / locker / changing area adjustments.

Exterior Design Both groups prefer the Contemporary Suburban design. • Online respondents:
• preferred Contemporary Suburban slightly more (50.8%) than Mid Century Modern (42.7%).
• Public Meeting respondents:• preferred Contemporary
Suburban nearly 2:1 (62.5%) over Mid Century Modern (34.4%).

All respondents agree:
• 4 out of the 5 of the most important pool features are Shade Structure, Deep Water, Zero Entry Depth Entry and Shallow
Water.
• The least important pool features are Slide, Grass Area and Diving Board
• Lap lanes are more important for public meeting attendees, while online respondents prefer a larger deck.
All groups wrote comments suggesting:
• Building fewer than the 6 lap lanes shown
• Enclosing pool for year round use.

MISSION DRAFT
To create a gathering place that will affirm the lives of the
community, be a catalyst for neighborhood pride, and provide
social and recreational activities to activate and engage all ages.
In addition, the centers will enhance the APEX Park and
Recreation District recognition throughout the community.
