Raymond Kallman [email protected] Fishing Lures 1. Cut blanks to size. 1” x 1” x 5” is a good average size. Blanks can be most any wood but western red cedar mahogany or maple work well. 2. If making a popper, make an angled cut on one end. 2. Drill 1/8 in hole through the center of the blank using a long bit. This can be done using a Jacobs chuck on your lathe or a drill press if the throw is long enough. 3. Mount blank between centers. 4. Turn to shape and sand. 5. Apply one or more coats of sanding sealer. 6. Paint as desired 7.
