ARNAKKEis located to the west of Tempelkro-gen, and from here you can fish tothe south – towards the conservationzone at Elverdams Rivers, andnortheast towards Tempelvej and thelittle island that is situated here. Thewhole stretch fishes well throughoutthe winter months, from the end ofSeptember till mid-April, and someveritable trophy catches can be madehere. Parking is available in the areaaround Tempelkrogens Bådelaug,which is found via Tempelvej.

THE MUNKHOLM BRIDGE (MUNKHOLMBROEN) offers exciting possibilities throug-hout the season. During winter, thesurrounding area warrants great seatrout fishing, where schools of fishpass through towards the spawninggrounds in Elverdams River. Both thenorth- and south side of the bridgeoffers great wading fishing, and somereal monsters are caught here. DuringMay, herring and garfish can be caug-ht from the bridge, and in July andAugust schools of fiery-temperedmackerel can be lured with small pil-kers. You can park at Munkholmen orin the public parking lot to the east ofthe bridge.

ERIKSHOLM SKOVENis located north of MunkholmKiosken, where there is a public par-king lot. The fishing starts in thesmall bay to the north, but concen-trate your efforts on the 1,5 kilome-tre long coastal stretch from the firsttongue and to the north. Here, youcan fish for sea trout all year round –over seagrass, bladderwracks, sandand mussels. The whole stretch iseasy to wade, and you can get closeto some rather drastic drop offs,where schools of fish usually can befound. Try gobius-, ragworm-, andshrimp imitations, and speed themup for the best results.

FISHING SPOTS:

SØMINESTATIONEN AND DRAGERUP SKOV make up an exciting coastal stretchof more than a kilometre – from thegolf course to the north and downsouth to Søminestationen. You canpark at the golf courses, and to thesouth you’ll find a beautiful coastalstretch with bladderwracks, sea-grass, sand and mussels. The stretchfishes best during winter and earlyspring – and again during fall, wheremigratory fish can be found here.The fishing is usually best at hightides, and shrimp-, stickle-, back-,gammarus-, and sandeel imitationswork well.

KIRSEBÆRHOLM REVis located at the mouth of HolbækFjord, and on the outer side ofKirsebærholm great sea trout fis-hing can be had - especially duringfall. At this time of year schools offish migrate through here, and the-y’re catchable on a mix of natural-and provocational lures and flies.During spring, when the fish migra-te towards the open coastal shores,great fishing can also be had here.The spot has great patches ofseagrass, bladderwracks, sand andsmall rocks, and with plentiful amo-unts of prey items, the sea trout liketo stick around here. You can park at Holbæk Golf, and from here there isa 1,2 kilometre walk.

STRANDMØLLEVEJin Holbæk Fjord is a long coastalstretch, which begins at HolbækMarina and continues inwards intothe fjord. You can park at the marinaand wade out onto a big plateau withvaried bottom conditions. Fish can befound anywhere on this plateau, andthe best results are usually achievedby fishing actively and covering a lotof water – preferably with shrimp-,gammarus-, stickleback- and gobiusimitations. The spot fishes well inMarch and April and from August tillOctober.

HØRBY is an interesting coastal stretch thatcan provide some hectic fishingduring early spring, throughout thesummer and during fall. You can parkat Hørby Havn and immediately to theeast of the harbour you can begin fis-hing. From here and one kilometre tothe east you’ll find a coastal stretchwith sand, rocks, bladderwracks,mussels and great wading conditions.The whole stretch can provide goodfishing, and oftentimes in really shal-low water – so fish the whole stretchthoroughly.

BOGNÆS – TORNEHAGEis a coastal spot at the northernmouth of Holbæk Fjord. Here, you’llfind a sandbar, which can offer goodfishing early in the morning or athigh tides. Otherwise, there is a kilo-metre-long stretch to the north withvaried bottom conditions, mussels,rocks and the possibility of hooking abig migratory fish during fall. Thewhole stretch fishes well during win-ter and early spring, and especiallysmall shrimp- and gammarus imita-tions are effective. During fall, try fliesand lures in hot yellow and orangecolours.

UDBY VIG AND HØNSEHALSENis situated at the end of Hønsehals-vejen. Here, there is an exciting ope-ning towards Udby Vig, which can pro-vide great fishing during winter andearly spring. First and foremost, howe-ver, it is the reef to the east and theshort stretch to the northwest thatshould be fished intensively. The outerside – towards Isefjorden – can also beproductive. Here, you should concen-trate on the reef to the east and theshort stretch to the northwest. The restof the stretch to the north mainly con-sists of sandbanks. Along the outer sideof Hønsehalen you can find schools ofmigratory fish during fall, and they canbe caught using, for instance, sandeel-and sprattus imitations.

LØSERUP STRANDis accessed via the parking lot at theend of Grønhøjvænge to the north.Løserup strand is characterized by amix of sand, rocks, seagrass and sand-banks, and the spot fishes well fromthe end of March until the end of April– and again during fall. Otherwise, youcan access the reefs at the mouth ofLammefjorden to the north. Here, thechance of running into schools of fishduring spring is good - especially if youtry small lures that imitate shrimp,ragworms and gobiuses.

TOKKERENGEN / FJORDENGENon Tusenæs is located at the end ofFjordengen/Lærkemosen, where thereis a little parking spot. Here, you’ll finda big reef, which fishes well during thewinter season and early spring. Thebottom, which mainly consists ofseagrass, sand, rocks and mussels, ishome to plenty of prey items duringthe increasingly warm spring months,and this attracts the sea trout. Duringfall, this coastal spot also attractsschools of migratory fish that stop byto hunt. Shrimp- and gobius imitationsas well as small spoons are safe betshere.

AUDEBO / SYDKANALENis a coastal spot on the south-western part of Lammefjorden,where Sydkanalen pours into thefjord. There is a public parking areaalong the dike, and you can fishfrom the dike in the first little bay,or you can cross over Sydkanalenvia a bridge and get to a big reefwith sand, mussels and seagrass.During the winter months andearly spring, the chances of run-ning into schools of fish here aregreat. The fish are attracted by thefreshwater pouring into the fjord,and small flies like Grå Frede, Fyggiand Kobberbassen – or smallmicro-spoons - will often triggerthe strike.

ORØis a beautiful little island in the mid-dle of Isefjorden. A small ferry takesyou to the island from Holbæk (orfrom Hammer Bakker to the East),and there are numerous hotspotsfor sea trout fishing all along theisland’s coastal shores. Especially ifyou’re a fly fisherman, Orø is anexciting place. No matter the wind-and weather conditions there isalways a favourable place to fish.The north-side has plenty of reefswith rocks and bladderwracks. TheEast and West-side of the islandoffers great channels and tidal cur-rents, and the South-side boastsshelves with sandy bottom, dropoffs and banks, which can hold bigschools of fish during spring.

SKARRESØ is located near the city of Jyderup.It’s Holbæk Kommune’s biggestlake with a surface area of 192ha

and water depths exceeding 4meters. Skarresø is home to healthypopulations of pike, zander andperch, and additionally great coarsefishing for bream and roach can behad. Bank fishing is allowed in threedifferent zones along the lake’snortheastern and southeastern sho-res, and if you’d like to chart the lakefrom a boat, you can join Holbæk ogOmegns Lystfiskerklub. LAMMEFJORDSKANALEN– or Skjolds Løb – is home to greatfishing for a number of species likeroach, perch, bream, pike and carp(as well as sea trout during fall andwinter). The canal can be accessedvia Øvejen, Østre Vej and GislingeFjordvej, and from here you can fishlong stretches of the canal with amix of different techniques. The bigpike can be caught using wobblersand baitfish. The perch can be caug-ht with small spinners and jigs, andthe roach, bream and carp can becaught using corn, maggots andearthworms. TUSE Å offers great brown trout fishingthroughout the year. And duringsummer, solid amounts of seatroutmigrate into the river. The river has alot of deep holes, where the fish hideout, and big, heavy spinners, or fliesfished on sinking lines, is how to getin touch with them. The fishing isadministered by Tuse Å’s Ørred-sammenslutning, and during theperiod of March 1st – August 31st,daily licenses can be bought for100kr. For more info: tuseå.dk/
