But most of them are unaware about Fish OIL. Fish oil is good option to keep our heart healthy. Fish oil can be obtained from eating fish or by taking fish oil supplements or capsules. Fish oil supplements and capsules are usually made from fish like mackerel, tuna, salmon, sardines, and bluefish. Fish oil is packed with heart healthy fats Omega 3 fatty acids (Eicosa pentaenoic acid and docosa hexaneoic acid) (EPA and DHA). Omega 3 fatty acids seems to be good for heart, it reduces pain and swelling and also prevent blood from clogging easily. This might make fish and fish oil helpful for heart conditions. Omega 3 fatty acids seems to be good for heart, it reduces pain and swelling and also prevent blood from clogging easily. This might make fish and fish oil helpful for heart conditions. According to American Heart Association researches have proven that Omega 3 fatty acid is effective in reducing risk of cardiovascular diseases. It also helps to reduce levels of bad cholesterol (LDL Cholesterol) in the body.

Fish oil is very effective in keeping triglyceride levels in normal range. High triglyceride levels are associated with heart disease and diabetes. Researchers found that fish oil can reduce triglycerides levels by 20% t0 50%. And one particular fish oil supplement (Lovaza) is approved by FDA to lower triglyceride levels.

Researchers have also proven that fish oil can prevent arthrosclerosis and it is effective in treating heart strokes and regular use can help to avoid sudden cardiac deaths. People who already have heart disease may lower their risk of dying from heart disease by consuming fish oil.

Apart from all these, Fish oil is not only beneficial for healthy heart but also helps to improve immunity, treats depression, anxiety, arthritis, ADHD, good for skin, acne, hair and many more.

Consumption of 100-200gms of fish two to three times a week or daily consumption of 3-5 grams of fish oil is adequate to prevent heart disease and to control high triglyceride levels.

But it is very important to consume fish, fish oil supplements or capsules in recommended amount. It should be taken under an observation of physicians only as fish oil supplements can interact with birth control pills, medications for high blood pressure and anticoagulants. It can also cause side effects like, reduce immunity, bad breath, nausea, heartburn, rash. But taking fish oil supplement with meal may help to reduce these symptoms. So, always use it in recommended amount by your physician and be healthy.
