on the occasion, the LtGovernor expressed hishappiness over theinauguration of the FLC,which he said, has fulfilledthe long pending demandof the people especiallyfisher folk of Guptapara andits adjoining area. With thenew facility in place, thefishermen can now taketheir fishery relatedactivities in more organizedway, the Lt Governoradded. The Lt Governorfurther stated that as perthe master plan of theAdministration, 14 FLCshave been planned out ofwhich, six FLCs have so farcompleted, work onanother six FLCs areunderway while work onanother two FLCs are yetto start. These FLCs arebeing constructed tofurther upgrade andimprove fishery relatedactivities in these islands,

he added.Referring to the enormouspotential for fisheries inthese islands, the LtGovernor stated that thereis need to exploit the vastpotential of naturalresources available in thissector. He said thatdirections has been issuedto the Chief Secretary andconcerned officials toundertake survey, research& development and tointroduce latesttechnology so thatmaximum potential in thissector can be tapped. Thissector has all the potentialto solve the un-employment problem inthese islands, he said andadded plan are being madeto invite fishermen fromother countries forimparting training to ourfishermen.Outlining some of thedevelopment projects of

In a press release issued today, the CommissionerFood Safety, A&N Islands has informed that the A&NAdministration has conveyed its administrativeapproval for prohibition, manufacture, storage,distribution on all forms of tobacco products.
