EXPLORE YOUR OPTIONSResidence Education develops a dynamic community of learners through
creating and engaging in experiential and holistic learning opportunities
within residence halls. In creating this community of creators and innovators,
Babson strives to connect students’ classroom and co-curricular experiences.
Babson o�ers unique Living-Learning communities where students can
explore their specific interests. Each community encourages residents to make
a di�erence by taking action at Babson and beyond. Living-Learning
communities and post-secondary institutions in the United States are
frequently connected to an academic course.
LIVING SOCIAL CHANGECONNECTED TO FIRST-YEAR SEMINAR: FYS 1000The Living Social Change Community is for students who are passion about
community service, social entrepreneurship, and social responsbility to live
together. These students participate in the First-Year Seminar that places an
emphasis on service leadership and creating positive social change. Students
in this community have gone on service trips to places local and afar such as
the City of Boston and El Salvador, started non-profits in high school, and have
volunteered for organizations such as the Red Cross and UNICEF.
We encourage you to apply for this community if you:
> Are committed to a social cause or social issue
> Have participated in community service
> Wish to create social change
> Desire to learn more about social entrepreneurship & responsibility
LIVING ENTREPRENEURSHIPCONNECTED TO FIRST-YEAR SEMINAR: FYS 1000The Living Entrepreneurship Community provides students with the
opportunity to successfully incorporate Entrepreneurial Thought & Action®
into everyday life. Past residents have attended workshops, listened to guest
speakers such as Dave Heath ‘05–CEO of BOMBAS® Athletic Socks–who
pitched his business on the TV show Shark Tank®, and more. Potentially,
future residents may have the opportunity to visit start-ups in the Greater
Boston Area. This First-Year Seminar is tied to this community, which focuses
on the aspects of entrepreneurship residents live out in their residence halls.
We encourage you to apply for this community if you:
> Define yourself as a growing entrepreuer
> Have started/worked for a business, organization, or venture
> Have participated in DECA or the Future Business Leaders of America
> Desire to explore Entrepreneurial Thought & Action®
